ssculptor
Here is the work of several model railroaders who worked together to create this 1/20.3 scale layout. The track is the usual G gauge (1 3/4" between the rails) upon which scales as small as 1/32 run. In 1/32 the model railroad portrays a full standard (4'-8.5" between the rails) gauge. In 1/20.3 scale this same tack is a narrow gauge. Narrow gauge track was rather common for logging, mining and other temporary towns and railroads. Narrow gauge is less expensive than full standard and logging and mining roads end as the trees are all cut down and the mine runs out of ore. There still are narrow gauge railroads running in the USA but very few. There is an active narrow gauge railroad in Germany that is still functional. They exist the world over. But this set of photos is to demonstrate what real master craftsmen can do when they make a diorama. By the way, a model railroad layout is simply a diorama that has action - the trains run. http://www.modvid.com.au/html/body_sundance_central_2011.html Enjoy, Stephen P.S. the trains can be bought ready made. But almost everything else is scratch build. The scenery and buildings and some of the specialty cars are scratch built. The automobiles are often 1/18 scale and the people are either scratch built or kit-bashed from existing figures. In model railroading if a modeler wants something different he usually makes it himself. Edited February 20, 2012 by ssculptor

Loic
Pretty amazing indeed ! It really makes me wonder how on earth do the manage to prevent dust to cover everything? Man, when I lokk at the say 6 or 7 models I have on display, it hardly take a week to get them covered with crap. With such an enormous display that was obviously not completed in one weekend... how come this is not covered with dust
LSP_K2
I eyeballed most of the images yesterday; quite interesting stuff. I have a pal that does comparable stuff in HO scale.
