Juggernut
Larry, it's what the model paint companies refer to as RLM 84. That color has never been officially identified but it was, according to the references I've read, a variation of RLM 76. It's a greenish yellow and used to be available in the old Floquil color line. Its similiar to British Sky type S but somewhat lighter. Now the top of the wings are a little different than what the references say. I used RLM 75 and 76 instead of what the references call RLM 75 and 77. I have a color picture of a scrapped dora showing the top of the wings and to my eye, it sure looks like a shade of blue rather than grey. HTH TimC. Derek B
Tim C, Very, very nice (I forgot to scroll down to see the finished item - doh!). Well deserved credit for your efforts. You can always tell a good model - with no other reference close to the model, it should be almost impossible to determine the scale of the finished model from its looks alone! Well done Tim.
