theseeker
We are about to move and this build is on hold. I have finished the engine and most of the fuselage, including the rigging, what a nightmare! I have the engine pics below. LMK if you want more. LSP_Kevin
I'm not familiar with this kit, so I don't know if the pipes in the kit are already made out of copper. If not, how the hell did you paint them to look like it so convincingly? Wow. Kev

If not, how the hell did you paint them to look like it so convincingly? Wow. Kev The kit parts are all plastic and very big! I used Testors MM copper and with the airbrush. I have not weathered the engine and I am thinking of a "brand spanking new" finish. Thanks for the kudos. BTW, in 1/8 scale this is a big kit. johng
You're moving into a new house with an attached hanger for this baby, right? Looks great! The copper finish is perfect, maybe a little too perfect. Only an engine that's never been run at all would not have some bluish discoloration on the pipes, especially near the block. Hope you can get back to it soon and post more pics.

DrDave
May I suggest a bit of alclad jet exhaust or burnt aluminium near the engine block? Mind you this is Shuttleworths pristine PUP
bcauchi
That's a truly awesome job you did with that engine. Looks every bit as real as a full size one. Great work but keep the pics coming.
