  1. I don't believe so They weren't flying MF's at that time. I don't believe they got MF's until the early 70's. 1966 would be the F-13's or perhaps the PF (which the only kit in 1/32 is the old Revell kit, which is waaay bad).
  2. You just missed one that sold for $15 BIN.
  3. My opinion is that the only aircraft that should go larger than 1/24th are WWI, and 1/16th would be my limit with those (the Hasegawa 1/8 kits are HUGE). If it could carry a nuke, I would say 1/32 would be the upper limit. Oh, welcome to the mad house!
  4. Alq-71's were used on the F-105's and the F-4's of Op Bolo
  5. Yeah, but no one pays retail. Every kit at Sprue and everywhere else has an MSRP. For example, the Mig-29 kit that Sprue has on sale right now has an MSRP of $95, Sprues price is $76 and its on sale for $45. Even that link to Freetime shows that you can take it home for $149 shipping included. So street price is what matters, and if you have some patience, you will get them MUCH cheaper eventually. The formerly $100+ Zero kits I have seen in the $60 range on numerous occasions. Spits in the $70-90 range. When the bubble top hits the market I can see the price of the birdcage going down quickly. I still wouldn't pay that for a Corsair, though.
  6. Did they show you the discount before you actually placed the order, or was it on the invoice they sent you so that you could pay? I ask because I wanted to see if those discounts would be shown but I am to the point where I would need to place the order and no discounts are displayed. Thanks! Jason
  7. I agree, if this is a rebox of the Academy kit with parts for any version included, its a heck of a package. However I don't understand Lucky's verbiage here: Redemption: With any purchase over US$30, redeem Kinetic 1/32 F/A-18A/B/C/D at US$69.99 Thoughts?

  9. Kitworld decals has decals for a 1/32 Jaguar and several B-17F's (including Memphis Belle) with no kit to put them on.
  10. In Tom Cleavers review on Modeling Madness, he replaced the wheel spats with Revell parts, and mentioned the 21C parts could be used but they were a bit more clunky. He didn't mention the nose issues, though. http://modelingmadness.com/review/axis/cleaver/g/tmc87b.htm
  11. As such... http://www.wwi-models.org/Images/Nuesser/German/ Amazing work
  12. Isra Decals (IsraCast) does Python 3's that would be applicable to the Kfir Paragon did Python 3's as well CAM did Python 3's as well, but they are woefully undersized so avoid those. Same thing with their M117 750lb bombs Not sure that the Kfir ever carried them, but Isra and Paragon also did Python 4's I think the F-4 usually carried Sidewinders, I have seen photos of Kurnass 2000's carrying the Python 3 Isra also does various Israeli Smart munitions (SPICE guided bomb, Delilah cruise missile) that may or may not be applicable to the Kfir or the F-4 (at least prior to Kurnass 2000 upgrades) so someone would have to chime in to say whether those are applicable I believe the Kfir primarily carried unguided stuff, so Mk 8x series of 500-2000lb bombs would be applicable. Perhaps US GBU's as well. F-4 carried the whole range of iron bombs,Maverick missiles, cluster bombs, US GBU's, etc... Cheers Jason
  13. Yep, if they took the fuselage detail of the 1960-something Spit and applied some modern tooling to the details, cockpit, etc...they would have the best of both worlds IMHO. Then again, there would be a bunch of people complaining about restoring the raised rivets lost in filling, and calling for recessed ones instead. If people would look at alternate methods of filling and smoothing gaps, like using magic sculp putty that can be smoothed with a wet finger tip instead of sanding away detail using things like super glue, the raised rivets might not be so daunting.
  14. True, but considering the age of some of the kits that have used this method, you would think with modern tooling and technology the rivets could be made even smaller and more to scale, surely they could get them down to almost the size of the holes they use now.. And truthfully, the pic I posted blows the rivets up a lot larger than they are to the naked eye. In fact, I had to look twice with my admittedly not perfect vision to see that they weren't "divots". I would at least like to see them try it and see how it looks on a new tool kit.
  15. Correction Sprue Bros HAD it in stock. Not now...
  16. Spit wing with a little lighting adjustment. Please manufacturers, take note!
  17. I was messing around with my "Frankenspit" (combining the Hobby Boss engraved fuselage from the Mk Vb with the engraved wing of the R/M Mk I/II kit) when something struck me. The engraved wing of the Revell hybrid kit actually has many of the rivets as embossed circles. Not deep divots. Not shallow divots. But actual tiny round circles. To me, this is how any company should represent flush rivets. Considering its on a wing of a kit produced what, over 10 years ago(?), why any of the current big names couldn't follow suit is beyond me. I think if you compared these rivets to what Tamiya did on their uber Spitfire kits, these would look much more like the real thing. Even for raised rivets, something flush and round would be preferable to a hole. Cheers Jason
  18. 30???!!! You are a virtual babe in the modeling community. Perhaps a snap together kit from Wal Mart WOULD be most appropriate! God, I can't even recall 30, but I know I had less aches and pains, and could see. Enjoy it while it lasts!
  19. Right, because we have the 40+ year old Revell kit, and the Revell/Hasegawa hybrid kit thats based on a 30+ year old kit with new(ish) wings.Yeah, because a new tool model of one of the most important aircraft in WWII (and history IMHO) is as over represented as the planes you mention.Seriously?
  20. Luckily I have plenty of extra everything (decals, props, spinners) from the Revell/Hasegawa Hybrid kits that could be useful it seems.
  21. True Details as well (possibly ex-CAM?) https://www.squadron.com/product-p/td32402.htm
  22. Verlinden makes a cockpit set for it which is one of their more useful sets. Not Black Box but its serviceable. Its still available I believe, and they are on e-bay frequently. http://www.largescaleplanes.com/reviews/review.php?rid=963
  23. This would be interesting to me if it weren't a skeleton model. Whats there look pretty good. Perhaps they might consider releasing a "fully dressed" version. I would be all over that, especially if they decided to release a DR.I in 1/16.
  24. Both Revell and RoG released the same kit with the engraved wings but with different decals. I want to say Hasegawa released a boxing as well with different decals, but can't be sure. I know I ended up with decals from all the boxings that were released.
  25. Two types of plastic?Yes! Question is, will it be "molded in color"???
