  1. Erik, got the E kit.But i'm thinking of making it longer in the nose. But that's alittle down the road.larry
  2. Guys, I guess i have two choices here. The two tone blue/grey is one and the other is the two tone dark blue/dark green for the RAF birds. The french as to the Mirage 2000 is one color scheme that keeps yelling at me.That two tone white and orange id some what screaming to loud.Want to keep it in the military type scheme. I'm going to run a poll here and see what the tally will be and late u know what comes up from the poll. So,What does evryone think here as to a paint job for my mirage?Larry
  3. To any glue jockies who have built the MIRAGEIII by revell.I need some intel on the color schemes for a mirage.Have seen the two tone blue paint job and the british dark green and dark sea blue. Not looking for the wild paint jobs. But military types that look good for my mirage build.Larry
  4. jack, Been there and have done what u did.But as to detailing a part in the pit before u painted it and added some detail is part of vac building.I did my TA-154 as to the consoles and i think they look ok.But u can do it for sure.U never falture when u do u'er vacs.Larry
  5. Jack, I did forget about u using weight in the nose.As for the main gear legs.I made them from plastic tubing.aluminum tubing and solid rod for inner strength. This way.It will give the mains a better chance as to the spreading i mentioned in the last reply to u.The way the cat sits on a level playing field is another thing u will have to watch out for.I have seen a few pic's that show the tire and wheel siting straight up and down and some with alittle nit of an angle.I guess it may have to do with the weight of fuel, pilot and ordnance. And for the angle of attack as to the nose wheel and tire.Again to pic's i have seen.he cat sits up alittle.I'm thinking at about 3-4 degrees up angle. The plans i have do not show anything unless u have plans showing it that way. And for the wheels and tires i used.I used model car wagon wheels and i think i used 48th scale monogram B-17G tires with the center cutout so the wagon wheels would fit right.Hope all of this helps.Larry
  6. jack, I used a some car wheel weights u balance tires with.Or one can use BB's or led pellet's also. But if u have close off the nose wheel bay. Then u might want to cut a small hole in the front of the wheel bay and add led pellets here. The hole will determine as to how she'll sit down on the nose. And since u do not have the nose strut glued in place. It will make it easier to do the small hole and go with the pellets. And then use super glue as to epoxy and let it sit up or use super glue hardener to make the glue set up faster. As long as u have enough weight in the nose. She'll sit down for u.But do not over do the pellets or whatever u use. Those main struts could spread outward and u do not want that.Larry
  7. Jack, That's not a mess. It's progress to say the least for the cat.And rainy days make things alot better for all of us.And u do not have to cut the grass,do anything that will strain the brain. She's looking like mine did.She maybe messy. But she is coming along.Larry
  8. Russ, Just a thought here as to the wrapage on that wing top.I thoguht as to when i get one and if happens to me as to using the revell wing from the revell kit.Just to see if it maybe the same shape wise or at least hlep it in some way.Nice idea as to the first air commando's 51 with the load out.She will look nice when she's done.Larry
  9. John, One thing when i do my vacs is to try finding a 48th 0r 72nd scale kit of the subject i'm going to do.This is for the pit and anything else that i'm going to do with the project. As for the pit and pic's of it.I would go to the japanese site that should be able to help u out at j-aircraft.com or go to google and do a search for the judy's interior pic's.Or ask the guys over on the dicussion board on HS.Larry
  10. John, Nice looking A-26 u have there and it should be noted as to the detailing u did in the bombay, pit and the node compartmant as well. And really good looking 26 as to use of the 26 in the koeran war.Larry
  11. abledog5, It looks like jeff is kicking major butt here and as to the judy u have posted.HOLY CCCCOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!Hope u have at least cutout the pieces off the carrier sheet and have done some sanding as to the parts. This will great for those who need to see a vac build, step by step.U are one lucky cowboy and hope to see some pic's of u'er progress.larry
  12. Fam, Have to ask this one question.Who does u'er work for u?NOT!U got it right and that 209 is the cat's MEOW!And good luck to u'er labor of love.Larry
  13. Jon, Well,And i guess i should say.DDDAAAAMMMMNNNN!!!!U are one for scracthbuilding. And that J7W1 is more than off the wall and then some.U Sir!Are a master at scracthbuild as to this project and it looks even better than the scracthbuilders kit.To bad u could do a kit for us guys.U could make some serious money.Larry
  14. Jack, Rambling ad venting is good for the soul.If we do not say what we mean. Then were in a heap of *^%$.Larry
  15. Jack, I've been there as of lately and i guess getting to where i have to put down some projects and walk away for a while.U do what u need to do and keep up what u'er doing and it will workout for u.I thought i would quit doing vacs for awhile. But i have this combat F-102 yelling at me since i finished my TA-154.But u know vac and it does have it's up and down to be sure.Larry
  16. Greg, Shes' finished and will try to get my daughter to take some pic's and post them for u.Then it's on to my combat F-102.That's going to be a bear as to the 106 i built awhile ago.Larry
  17. That is ONE!Drop Dead Gorgeous Sabre and then some.Larry
  18. Spads57,Or Greg for short, U are a SICK,SICK Man as to liking what u like. And speaking of vacs. What have u been working on vac wise?Larry
  19. Harold, Regardless what anyone says as to the work u have done,is just with the plan.resin has to worked and reworked to say the least and u keep right in there pitching and u'll get it done.I stand behind u 110% and i thing the rest of the guys will back me up on that.Larry

  22. Pfuf, Looks good to me and i like the way u weathered the bottom of u'er 88 and the mud on the tires. And handling that monster is like when i handle my 154.Great work.larry
  23. Ads, Tried to see the figures u mentioned. But there is an error on the ebay site.Larry
  24. This is the ID vac kit of the TA-154 that I have been working on for two months now. It's been a fight, but the end is in sight. So far: 1. Scratchbuilt everything in the pit and will be adding the seats and harness later on. 2. Wheels and tires are from the Trump 262 kit. 3. Scratchbuilt windscreen made out of a plastic strips and laminated with clear package covers. 4. Nose strut is off the Hasegawa A-4 kit. 5. Main gear struts are made from evergreen plastic tubing as to the plans from the kit. 6. The flaps have been cutout to match what I have seen from pics off Google and a Pro-Modeler build on the site. 7. The antenna that are sticking up through the wing area are not guns. They're a different type of radar antenna as compared to the standard type used on the nose. 8. Had to add to the nose because the kit nose was somewhat blunt. I copied the design from the 48th. 9. I had two Revell D-9 cowls added on and redone to match the rear nacelles. 10. Props are from the Revell D-9 as well. 11. Exhaust matches intel from the 254 and molded into place. 12. Cut out the ailerons and attached them with one up and one down. Same for the elevators. 13. Main canopy was also scratchbuilt using a clear package cover from a scrub brush and formed to match the plans. 14. Added brake lines out of copper wire on the main gear legs. 15. Opened up the back pit cover as to the entrance for the radar operator location just back of the back bulkhead. The decals and panel lines go on next with a black pencil and then some minor tweaking and she's done. Comments appreciated. Larry (warning for dial-up users: images are somewhat large)
  25. Harold, Since u have been upgrading anything that has come out for the F-8,F-100 and the mig.Is there a list u work from as to those who have asked u for s certain item say as a certain seat or pit for a certain A/C?U have really come across with alot of items that we guys here on the site are going crazy over. Is there a chance as to doing say in the next few months or so some WWII items as to upgrades for a A-26 or B-25 as to wheels and tire sets for these or or a cockpit floor as to the mockup of the F-8 seat u'er now doing.I'm getting tired of scracthing all my interiors fro my vacs.and my hands and fingers are getting rather arthritic to say the least and i hate to start a vac and not have the right items for them. This is of course a suggestion and an idea for the future or at least before i kick the bucket. I hope this is not going to over tax u for all the GREAT resin bits u have done so far.Larry
