  1. Is the control rod (for lack of a better term) on it hinged? One simply cannot believe these printed aftermarket parts.
  2. May I ask why you're priming? ~. If you're priming to get a one color surface because your build includes a lot of different color aftermarket resin/3D prints, or to check seams etc, then just use any regular color lacquer. ~. If you plan to wet sand the primer before the top coat then use a lacquer designated specifically as a sandable primer. Otherwise just skip it.
  3. Hey Rob. Yea, this gets tricky for several reasons. Rivet sizes on aircraft vary and the rivets represented on kits are seldom correctly represented. The 1/48 rivets are .23mm The 1/72 rivets are .15mm All of the aircraft products are HERE. Unfortunately, and completely my fault, not all the scale specific indicate the diameter. Any rivet set designated for any scale are all the same diameter. Of all the pictures customers have sent me, this 1/72 Lanc takes to prize. I thought you'd find this interesting.
  4. Everything. New products are also in the works. Anything you'd like to see them offer?
  5. Well, there's something you don't see every day. Looking forward to this one!
  6. It is when you have big plans, little resources and no knowledge of the market. It's complicated so be nice. In the meantime the entire store is open and filling orders through the website, archertrasfers.com.
  7. Yea, it's what happens when you bite off more than you can chew. But at least you can still buy what you need. The old website is running.
  8. Funny, I've just been casually scanning this build to pass the time and as it's progressing I'm thinking to myself... "This is some really fine work." It wasn't until that point that I found out whose build this is. I need to pay closer attention.
  9. Now, THAT kind of product support is how to run a business!
  10. The new manager/owner is struggling to get their stuff together. Big plans thwarted by reality and all I can do is sit by and watch. It is going to happen, and in the meantime they are taking orders, albeit with zero fanfare.
  11. I'd go with the metal first and then the 76, just like the real thing.
  12. Heartbreaking. Hard lesson learned, don't mix paint chemistries and don't try new things on your build. Been there, done that and feel your pain.
  13. What brand of decals are you using? Are you using the brand Sharpie or a different brand?
  14. General advice: Assuming you're referring to the heart insignia, Start with the black because it's easier to put that mask back in place, then do the white. When I encounter a situation where the mask can't conform to the model, I make a decal using the masks. https://www.scalemodelpaintmasks.com/index.php?/topic/611-how-to-make-decals-with-masks/
  15. True. Military aircraft are semi gloss in appearance.
  16. Nicely done! Few people know the Hurricane shot down more enemy aircraft than the Spitfire during the BOB.
  17. Glad to see you got the masks sorted out even though you still had problems. Perseverance pays. I know this is no help for this build, but when I was trying to get usable masks for my build I discovered that stencil style lettering worked better. One of the numbers I wanted was an 8 but the mask for the inside of the 8 just wouldn't stay in place but the stencil style was easy because those tiny parts were all held together.
  18. Now there's some Old School modeling right there. Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth I used part of a clear tooth brush handle.
  19. I've always admired people who bite off more than they can chew and then proceed to chew it. In other words: SUBSCRIBE!
  20. That's what I was thinking, but I'm undecided - gummed or not gummed?
  21. If you build models and can't solve problems you need to take up another hobby. Well done!
  22. Thank you. I would have never guessed.
