  1. Looks good Hacker,damn nice job.The details,the details.
  2. Some very nice work Graham. This is the real first vac-build i have seen anybody do.While I was skeptical at first because it was a vac you most certainly have thrown all that aside.Like many on this site scratch building seems to be part of the trade.Again Nice Work! Kevin
  3. That is really neat Barney the engine ,lights and copit dash.I like it.Do you have a potentiometer wired in for the power souce to the engine? You had a nice rotation going maybe 900-1100 rpm kinda like that idle speed.Anyway looks good.kevin
  4. The effort looks good Ian.I Have one of these in the closet waiting and I believe I will rescribe mine also,it will be my first full attempt.Looking forward to the seeing what she going to look like.Kevin
  5. That blue-green(dull dark green by publication) reminds me somewhat of the P-47 paint scheme when it came out of Republic factory.Thats from Squadron book 8254 page 42.Seems to be an authentic color but to that paticular factory it sounds in a P-51.Hey I guess the government used what it had wherever they had it? Thks Tourist for the bookmark. All the best Kevin
  6. Jean absolutly beautiful work.I think you are moving in the right direction as one of those modelers people are just amazed with.I liken you're work to a gentleman that lived in Canada who recently passed who did his work in 1/12 all metal though. He was featured in FSM a couple of times and his work just made you scratch your head.I am sure someone here will recall the gentleman. But you Sir are doing some fine work, look forwrad to that finished project.
  7. Looking pretty good Meneloas.Liking the work on the copit thus far some nice details. All the best Kevin
  8. hey If I saw it on your shelf "I say it's a model".Looks good been waiting for the flat and the tape to come off.
  9. Beautiful job!!Is that a resin kit?vacu?
  10. Aero and others when you rescribe I guess you draw out the pattern first?I have never rescibed a whole plane or even part of one.I can see now were if I had drawn out a rescibe for panel lines erased whould of made my life easier.
  11. THKS Richard I appreciate that .Like I said I learned a few new things with this one.All the best Kevin
  12. Thanks Murph.I thought I was a little to heavy handed and maybe geometric if you know what I mean. One strange thing did happen strictly by chance and it does not show up real well in the photos. I had painted the whole plane light blue,rlm85 and then rlm84.I then coated the plane with with 3 coats of future and let it dry for a day.I was going to use the old technique of letting the thinned down paint go down the seams;good so far.Went to wipe of the excess and it went right through the future, lacquer through acrylic hmmm.Well some of the paint started coming up in some spots talked about PO!Then I noticed it was removing a thin layer making the darker color lighter in relation to the color underneath.I then went after the whole plane this way very carefully. The rest of the shading after that was all pastels and I really enjoyed that part. I have to say alot of the work I have seen in this forum pushed me to new areas I have never really dealt in and for that I say Thanks to this board. The next one I think may be the 1/48 HE-280 profli kit something quick and easy and then the P-51 Trump kit.I have lots of extras and plenty of material for research already.
  13. ......got to clean a little paint from the tail wheel
  14. Well I finally finished the plane.I found a new joy and maybe of carried it a bit to far"shading".I think she came out OK though.Comments welcomed. Thanks for looking. All the best Kevin
  15. Now that would be pretty neat Old Dog.Wait'in on the paint. What colors?
  16. The gunsight.Did these gunsights really sit this far from the panel?I had it closer but the windscreen was hitting it.Sorry about some of the pics still fighting digi.
  17. Dude you definitly do not need any aftermarket parts with that kind talent and patience.Impressed!!
  18. I think the rod was probably the better route to take Murph.I did mine w/34gauge(just looked at spool) wire while it worked it was a pain to get taut and even then I had one or two that were looser than the rest. These are fun little kits that add color to the collection of an overlooked bygone era.
  19. Beautiful plane El Mariachi and there was all that fuss prior to release .Well this kit definitly looks like a keeper can't wait for you start the next one .The scratch build gear sounds like a learning curve I might be in for.all the best Kevin
  20. I have the gunsight I got rid of the green and made up some smoke for the front lens.
