  1. Received my set a day ago! Nice clear canopy! :-) Thanks for a great product! :-)
  2. From experience, smooth on produces easy to use RTV and resin
  3. I would more believe that they'll use the AH-1G variants released first, before the huey. The variants to be released will be similar to the 1/72 special hobby AH-1G to Q.
  4. Thanks Marl! Yes, I'm currently updating Floyd Werner on this conversion, and giving helpful feedback. :-) Same thoughts too! I plan to use leftover parts to update the old revell 1/32 cobra. :-)
  5. I just cut off the front doghouse, and transplanting the conversion set. So far so good The only issue so far is the chin turret set replacement is around 4-5mm longer. Need to carefully fit and most likely sand off the front. Hopefully this will work.
  6. The ICM kit is really beautifully molded. The problem is that the air inlet for the tubine is molded with a filter. After looking at the part carefully, it would be more issue trying to cut open the intake on the ICM kit, I decided to transplant the Revell intake. and after cutting and sanding, here we are.
  7. I may paint it in the marking used here, the Philippine Airforce. But am leaning towards the other markings included with the decals. :-) Again, we'll see.
  8. So I've decided to start a long term project. As an introduction: Our country just recently acquired AH-1F from Jordan, which were ex-IDFs. So I decided to try and build on in largescale. I am using the very nice Werner's wings conversion set. Now, this set was originally for the ancient revell 1/32 AH-1G. With the recent release of the ICM cobra, I decided to try and see if this will be doable. Here's the current fit. It fits! But still, with the degree of cutting off fuselage sections, I have to go at this, slowly and surely. Hence the reason why this will be a very long term conversion. And who knows? Maybe by the time I'm almost finished with this, a newly tooled TOW cobra maybe out by then.
  9. So now for plan B. Plan B involves using something in my stash for while. I actually have a Rutman P-51B, and it has a vacform canopy, BUT that's not what I plan to use. The vacform canopy has a resin mold included with it, so I plan to vacform the canopy using that. On further digging in the box, it turn out the rutman kit has 2 canopies. So, I decided to sacrifice one, to give an idea where would I go about this. My initial plan is to use the vacform to create the clam windows, and possibly the main 3 part canopy. So I cutout the original revell area and am now slowly but surely dryfitting the new clear parts. For the windscreen, I may use a trumpeter part, which unfortunately is wider at the bottom and rounder at the top. But to avoid cutting and dryfitting more clear vacform, I'm willing to take a risk in using this. I'll probably dunk it in hot water once I get the final fuselage width after getting the cockpit parts in and closed the fuselage.
  10. Thanks for the info! Here are where I am now, Initially I wanted to use the revell clam windows as the windows are correct in size and shape. At first the plan was to attach the clam windows to the fuselage cutout. Bad idea. The part does exactly fit and requires sanding and filling to make it level, and polishing to make it clear again, ASIDE from removing those nubs revell added to the canopy. And I just ended up with a cloudy window.
  11. So I decided to start cutting up a revell P-51D and revell B to make a razorback mustang . I followed these builds as an inspiration and provide the best ideas how: So I decided to use the old revell P-51B as the donor of the razorback. Remarkable for an old 60's kit the P-51B is actually accurate in outline, with exception of the nose area, probably due to the engine included in the kit. I mean the old kit wing has the same laminar wing shape as the new one, something that the trumpeter kit missed. So using Junpei Temma's profiles of the P-51B,I started making cuts. Again the P-51D is from revell I got cheap since the cockpit and fuselage was already painted, and a revell B. Let the cutting begin!
  12. Good job! Something I'm hoping to do with my 3 year old boy in a few years! Build kits with me!
  13. there is one. I saw images of it built up. My money is still on the 1/24 Revell Huey.
  14. do you have the patterns for the bulkheads on this build?
  15. thanks for the replies guys! Looks like no sirens
  16. Has anyone built the kit, specifically the 1/32 Ju-87B? It seems to be missing which part to use for the sirens on the spats? PS: i lost my manual, and all online searches showed nothing. :-/
  17. That's Radu Brinzan. I have to agree. That hurricane is truly a gem of a build.
  18. Posting a current shelf queen build. Started the kit back in 2016, but got too busy, and the build took a back burner. At the time, the kit was built, and I just need to put together the different parts together plus rigging after. So with the pandemic ongoing, I had time to finish this kit. Anyways, here WIP At the moment, I'm already rigging it, and I'm done! I used 2lb fishing line threaded thru an albion alloy microtube. I made my own eyelets using the fine wire from a small kitchen sieve. :-) At this point I just need to add rigging to the tail planes and control surfaces, and this kit will get a little weathering.

  20. So, finally finished this kit! The excellent Revell kit. Made some liberties, since original photos of Emerson’s aircraft showed only stripes on the bottom, but mine has them completely wraparound. Anyways, here’s the finished kit.
