  1. Thanks Maru. I looked at them more the other night and they just looked too long, so I sanded them down and made them look better. In hindsight, I wish I would have glued them a little bit more outward so they would be more centered in between the latches and the sensors, but oh well, what's done is done. Tim
  2. Did they announce any sites beyond 2023 San Marcos? Tim
  3. I still can't see them on my phone. Tim
  4. I'd like to see pics of the 1/35 helos and the Cessna, but none of your pics are showing up. Tim
  5. Outstanding job on the camo. Where did you get the standing aircrews figure? I've never seen that one by Live Resin. Tim
  6. Instead of redoing the cockpit floor, I decided to redo that tomorrow so I went on and tackled the floor armor that the 160th used down in Mogadishu. The floor armor is part of the Wernerswings OGS detail set. I sprayed it with a custom mix of 10 parts Model Air NATO green, 2 parts Mig Light Green Khaki and 1 part Game Color Moon Yellow. Mixes together, they made the perfect match for the faded OD panels. I then weathered them with Mig Africa Dust to give it that dusty, desert sand on the floor look. I also glued tiny Aber PE Wingnuts to the battery cover and glued it into place. Chow for now! Tim
  7. Wow, that looks just simply amazing. It looks absolutely realistic. Your talents are way beyond great! Can't wait to see you tackle the Jayhawk when it comes time to build it. Tim
  8. I'm telling mom you said a cuss word!!!!!!! Tim
  9. Ok, so now that we all know what MLT means, What da heck is LFTM???????? Tim
  10. Rick, where did you get them sanding pads??? Tim
  11. Seeing that there are no aftermarket missle warning sets for the Army H-60, I was forced to scratchbuild the nose sensors. Luckily I was able to use the sensors out of the MH-60L kit and sand them down to shape. The hard part was the base that they attached to. Here's what the real nose sensors look like with the blank plates installed: And here's my scratchbuilt ones: The blanking plates are used when the sensors are removed while the helos are stateside. Chow for now! Tim
  12. Special Operations build "Chariots of the Dark" Anything that is, supports, or transports spec ops guys. Tim
  13. "Hey, can someone give me a hand getting outta this thing???" That's some serious ballistic protection in that cockpit going on there, but I think the weight & balance might be jacked up now! Tim
  14. I was told they started off with the square backed seats, then went to the angled seats and now they are back to using a better designed squared back seat for better crash worthiness and ballistic protection. I don't remember the transition time frame though. HTH Tim Tim
  15. I don't know the reason why both were used. Let me get with some crew chiefs and I'll get back with you. Tim
  16. I think the CG blue is cool looking although I have seen some aircrews were the standard Army color as well. Tim
  17. Well shoot, guess I'm redoing the wear in the cockpit next bench session. I was just told that the other crew chief of Rude Dude (the 160th has 2 crew chiefs per MH-60L) said they were meticulous about their bird, so it means less wear on the floor. Doh! Tim
  18. Oliver, the floor wasn't weathered between the seat wells nor the front because the center console will be in the middle and there will be a wall installed in the front. Tim
  19. Today, I was able to get in a little time before I go to work so I began to weather the cockpit to look like a well used 160th bird from Somalia. I first layed down a layer of Vallejo Jet Exhaust with a sponge to simulate wear caused by the pilot's feet. Next came a weathering of Mig Africa Dust using a old brush seeing the cockpits and cabins had alot of dust in them. Next came the various boxes and brake booster assemblies found under the seats. It's not accurate, but gives it that busy look. I'll finish up the Copilot side this weekend. Chow for now! Tim
  20. I'd be right beside you. His painting is in a league of itself!!! Tim
  21. Copy! Sorry for the thread hijack. Tim
  22. Thanks Maru. I can always count on you for a kind and uplifting comment. Tim
