  1. Wow, I did not expect you to actually follow my advice!!!!😁 Looking good. Malc.
  2. Great update! What I like about following your build is thinking, 'yes, thats exactly what I would have done'! Armchair satisfaction......! One tip I would like to pass on - I always find that when simulating ribs/rib tapes with streched sprue, at the sanding stage a few always come loose at the ends and dissapear. Masking the wing (minus the rib tapes) then applying a couple of layers of heavy primer results in much better representation of the tapes - after a bit of gentle sanding to round off the edges of the primer following removal of the masking tape. @tomprobert is using this method on his remarkable vacform Short Stirling build. Looking forward to how you do the red lines! Perhaps use one of these and make a template guide to follow? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226267015086?_ul=GB&rb_itemId=226267015086&rb_pgeo=GB&ff=11&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5339059258&toolid=10044&customid=EAIaIQobChMIw5-3lJzLjAMVhotQBh3nRgAfEAQYASABEgLfa_D_BwE&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIw5-3lJzLjAMVhotQBh3nRgAfEAQYASABEgLfa_D_BwE Malc.

  12. One of the best things I saw at the show! Have to say it looks even better up close. I think you were otherwise engaged, or I would have had a chat! Oh - I was trying to post the pics I took but cant seem to embed the link from imgbb? Malc.
  13. I will be at the show, so will be sure to stop and give it a couple of coats of looking at! I would be interested in a partial kit of the bits that would be hard to make, I.E. engine/wheels/prop/decals. Malc.
  14. Nice! The paint finish is particularly crisp with just the right amount of gloss. M.
  15. Close up photos of the Delmar/Wolf R-2 replica show that the pin stripe is black. Also the exact non flying R-1 replica in the New England Air Museum has black pinstripes, this was built from original plans and with the help of Pete Miller the R model engineer who worked for the Granville brothers and with the family blessing. The book 'The GeeBee Racers' by Charles Mendenhall specifically says the R-1/R-2 colour scheme was red/white with black pinstripes. Sadly the other two marque specific books - 'The Real GeeBee story' and 'GeeBee' do not mention the colour scheme. Would love to hear/see any other evidence. M.
