  1. Wow that's awesome! Weathering looks superb!
  2. I've been building the Hasegawa Kittyhawk kit, in particular the P-40M mk III Wairarapa Wildcat. It's all painted up in RNZAF colours but I have had a total disaster with the decals. I can get hold of some decals for the P-40N which will work with the paint scheme, can anyone tell me the differences between the M and N variants? Can I use the N decals without surgery/repaint?
  3. Nice work mate. I just started my Hasegawa Kittyhawk tonight so will be following!
  4. Hi Everybody Here is my completed Revell Spitfire new tool. I know there's been a lot of controversy about the accuracy of this kit, but this one was built OOB. The figure is from Wings Cockpit Figures and is my first attempt at figure painting (a lot to learn there!). I built the kit with the wheels up as it will soon be hanging from my son's bedroom ceiling. Cheers Michael.
  5. I will be following this one... Got the Kittyhawk version waiting to start once I've finished the Thunderbolt I'm building.
  6. Great thanks for your help guys.
  7. I've just started my build of the Hasegawa P-47D Tarheel Hal and I was wondering if anyone can confirm is the kit based on the 30-RA version? I seem to remember reading somewhere that it is and I am actually wanting to paint her with different markings so would like to know any alternative schemes please. Thanks in advance!
  8. Stunning! I am going to be starting a Hasegawa P47-D soon so I found this very inspirational!
  9. Amen to that! Actually any Hurricane would be great.
  10. Great, thanks for your help guys! Juggernut, awesome info- much appreciated!
  11. Hi All I just bought the Tarheel Hal version of this kit as I saw it going cheap on Ebay... Have to admit I don't know much about the P-47 but I have always been keen to build one. Anyway, I'm not too keen on the Tarheel paint scheme so I am wondering if this version is the same as the regular Hasegawa P-47D apart from the decals? I.e. Will it be strait forward to build this and paint/decal in another scheme?
  12. I'm keen to know what's happening on the AM front also as I'm ready to start a build of the kit!
  13. Thanks for the great feedback everyone. The wing/fuse joint was challenging but if you take your time and fit the top wing to the fuselage first as many recommend it comes out pretty good. Was a fun build.
  14. Hi Everyone I'm a long time lurker here, this is the first time I've posted work. Just finished this Hurricane, it's my fourth large scale build and completely OOB. Cheers Michael.
  15. Hi Everyone, I'm currently building the rag wing Hurricane from PCM and the wife has inadvertently thrown my instruction booklet away! Can anybody help please with a scan of the propeller/spinner assembly section, it will be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks.
  16. Great thanks for the info everyone, I will be studying these awesome builds closely!
  17. Hi All I'm just getting started on a fabric wing PCM Hurricane and I have been hearing a few horror stories about the wing to fuselage fit. Is there a definitive best practise for fitting the wings? I am reading that it is best to fit the upper wings to the fuselage first rather than adding the wings as a complete sub assembly- is this correct? Can anyone who has built the kit offer any advice?
  18. Great looking Hurricane! Are wings standard Revell?
  19. Hi All, I remember reading somewhere that the Grey Matters Figures Hurricane cockpit will work in the PCM 1:32 Hurricanes. Has anybody done this? If so is it very involved?
  20. I am a relative amateur but recently built the PCM metal wing version. I have seen some finished builds on the net which look fantastic, mine however was not great possibly due to my lack of ability! There are some fairly serious fit issues, most notably the infamous fit of the wings to the fuselage problem. I think with a lot of patience it can be built into a stunner. Can't comment on the Revell offering but I believe there is a lot of work and expense required to bring it up to a good level. I think both have their challenges but both can be made into really good models.
