  1. Stunning work!!!! What to say more?
  2. Thank you. You're doing a great job!!! In this large scale it definitely will be a very impressive Slovakian tiger!
  3. Gents, decals for MiG-29AS, 0921, "Tiger" are available in 1/32nd scale. If anyone is interested in, more details via PM. Pic1 Pic2
  4. Hi. I've updated the article on my blog. Now you can check profiles and brief captions for each decal option. Some options are included as the marking is not available currecntly, some are there to offer the accurate or correct marking fingures to replace the already existing decals. Viktor
  5. Hi. You can check my blog for the decals samples in the 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scale Viktor
  6. Hi there. If you like Il-2, you might be interested in this You can also drop me line at airacut@gmail.com for more info. Cheers Viktor
  7. The presented book (Jakab) is, in my opinion, resuming number of information included in other Oleg Rastrenin´s books. It is not an ideal reference for modellers as it contains a little bit brief technical information. On the other hand, it is pretty interesting reading if you are interested in the Il-2. Jason, first Il-2KRs were equipped with straight wings, later also Il-2s "so strelkoy" were modified to the KR standard. As you have mentioned, KR machines had the full offensive weapons. Worth to say that Il-2KRs used to be loaded with rockets or bombs(!). Dutik, I am afraid you are searching the sangreal. Number of information is missing even in the wartime Soviet documents. In other cases, various resources reffer to different information. Nowadays it is impossible to write the absolute exact Il-2 book. Best rgds, Viktor
  8. Hans, correction of my previous information: the reinforcing belts were installed also on the single seaters. For now, don´t know whether it was standard or not. Still searching for information in the Soviet documents... Best rgds, Viktor
  9. Hans, while resuming all available information about the wooden wings reinforcement, for now it seems that the reinforcing belts were not applied on the single seat machines. But still hunting for more info... Jason, actually, the "red 28" (with NS-37 guns) was a late two-seat Il-2 with enlarged antenna mast, later canopy (like that from HB kit) and several aerodynamic improvements developed in the Factory No.30. Most likely a 4-tone camouflage was applied. As Jason has mentioned, marking for this aircraft (masks or decals) will be provided in the 2nd part of the Il-2 book. Unfortunatelly, till now I have not seen the two-seater "made in hobby boss". Best rgds, Viktor
  10. Hans, hope I can help (or participate) at least a little to make your Il-2 as accurate as possible. On the other hand, it is almost impossible to tell something surely (the primer for example). Jason, I look forward to it, too Viktor
  11. Jason, it definetely is a two-seat Il-2. Note the red stars with white border and thin red outline applied since September 1943. Two rocket rails under each wing indicate a two-seater as well. About the reinforcing belts: more information about their installation on both single- and two-seat (straight/arrow wings) Il-2s will be included in the book on which I am currently working. Best rgds, Viktor Btw, today is the Operation Barbarossa anniversary. Il-2 entered the combat duty...
  12. Jason, discussing the VVS paints is sometimes like dancing on the knife edge Hans, just a note about the wing reinforcing belts: if you look at the attached photograph, you can see that the belts do not reach to the aileron edge (as some scale drawings show). Best rgds, Viktor
  13. Hans, please note following: to camouflage the Il-2s, AMT paints were used - green AMT-4, black AMT-6 and light blue AMT-7. Despite they were originally intended for the wooden and canvas surfaces, they could and were used also for the metal surfaces of the mixed-construction aircrafts (like Il-2). In this case (metal) a special primer was used. Unfortunatelly, I cannot provide you any information about its colour, however, the camouflage paints (AMT) were not applied directly on the metal surfaces. Best rgds, Viktor
  14. Jason, the major part will come from the free-of-charge pdf file, but I would like to add some more, maybe also the Stepanyan´s personal machine (but really maybe). Hans, looking forward to see your further work on it! Viktor
  15. Hans, two more details to point out: one on the nose (see the picture) and one concerning about the wing reinforcement (picture). Tim, as a part of the 2nd part of my Il-2 book, a decal sheet and/or mask template set will be provided also in the 1/32 scale. Best rgds, Viktor
