DrDave Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) Actually I noticed this morning that if you wedge the fuselage apart at the rear of the exhausts with sprue or a cocktail stick, it transforms the wing and under cowling joins to near perfect. So the problem is just caused by the nose being a little floppy until its wedged part. Edited October 16, 2013 by DrDave Zero77 1
DrDave Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 So here is a 27mm sprue wedged behind the exhausts. Hey presto, perfect fit. I love modelling moments like this! So I withdraw my earlier adverse comment on fit, as total sanding time on fuselage an wings is less than 5 mins, due to clever thoughtful engineering that reduces seams to short lengths that fit well. DrDave Posted October 18, 2013 Author Posted October 18, 2013 I felt sorry for the poor forgotten Trumpeter 109, so I've decided to get it built so you can all see what it's like.
SinuheH Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Oh, no not the Trumpeter 109.... run for the hills.. you'll ruin the lives of those who have invested in stashes of other 109s! Serious - looking forward to this build - always been wary of Trumpy - but wiling to learn and change my opinion.
