Bill_S
I'm in. Not sure I'll be able to complete this one in time, but I'm willing to give it a whirl. The only aftermarket I foresee is the Waldron cockpit set that I've had in the stash for years. New ground for me: Separated control surfaces Complete rescribe Some scratch building in the bombardier area I probably won't get started until my Phantom hits the paint shop. skyhawk486
You'll need to order this from Grey Matter Figures, the Norden Bombsite. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321218700814?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Jack
yeah, good choice, i'll be following this one closely, but you'd do good to juice up the interior especially for the "one up front", but i think you'll have lots of fun building. Jack. I couldn't agree more, Jack. I had a few minutes tonight, the exterior detail on the crew pod is gone. Prepping for the interior of the snoot... Jack
Bill, i see you filled up the nose section, and i'm really curious what this is going to turn out into, are you planning to have a complete new nose section to work from?

Jack, It's plaster of paris - a technique I picked up here. I cast a couple of them as I'm bound to screw something up down the line. I trimmed one down; it's not fully set yet, so I didn't go as far as I want. View inside the pod... The end face is then used as a contour gage for cutting formers... As long as I can keep cutting outside the lines, it should be a nice fit to the pod... When I get a good fit, I'll cut the plaster back to the next location and repeat the process. Bill_S
Well, the plaster was WAY too tedious. I need to see progress! I opted for Evergreen strip instead... Still some minor framing to do; I'm patiently waiting for the HGW line rivets I ordered to arrive... Girlscanplay2

Bill_S
Nice ribbing Thanks, Loic. It's my first attempt at scratch building anything. While I'm sure that the imperfections will show under close scrutiny, I'm hoping that it turns out well when all is buttoned up... Bill_S
Some progress. There's no way I'll be able to eliminate that ejector pin mark. I cut it out. Some instruments for the bombardier. By no means finished, but it's a start... It's been a while since I've built one of these old Revell kits; I've been spoiled by Tamiya, Z-M, and the later issue Hasegawa cockpits. That's it for tonight. mywifehatesmodels
You may be "spoiled", but it doesn't look like you've lost any skills because of it. Looking great! John Bill_S
