DaveJ
Greetings everyone! This will be something like our previous 'Under 50" GB, but without the dollar limit. The intent is to have OOB builds that can be finished in a shorter time frame and with less stress. There will be no 'maximum completed' qualifier like 'must be less than 25% completed at the start' to allow any of those stalled builds (that are OOB) to get finished up! The only rules: Must be less than 100% complete at the start of the build. Only belts/harnesses and decals are allowed from the aftermarket. MINOR additions such as ignition wires can be added. This GB will start on September 15th and conclude on December 15th, just in time for Christmas! With this wide-open format we hope to see lots of folks who typically suffer from advanced AMS jump back in the game and get something finished. The limitations are intended to help us remember that great models can be built right from the box and are sometimes much more relaxing and fun to do! Or you can choose a limited run kit that has loads of details in the box, and still pull your remaining hair out. We hope to see many new builds and hopefully a few forgotten ones get finished! Regards, Gregory Jouette Hmm.. One of the points of the GB is to see what can be done without the 'fixes' we so often do. My recommendation would be that you complete the build with the kit wheels but only affix them with white glue or something less than permanent. What you do to it after the GB is over is entirely up to you and the wheels would be easy enough to replace after the fact.

Dave and the LSP Staff You guys are correct when you mention "lots of folks who typically suffer from advanced AMS". That is what drove me out of HO gauge model railroading when I was a teenager. I have not let it drive me out of any hobby since then. You guys want to burden yourselves with putting in every possible (and some impossible) detail in the models go right ahead and do so. Its your approach to the hobby, enjoy. But those of us who couldn't care less about including the porta-potty and its related wiring and plumbing will stick to our OOB way of enjoying our modeling. Yes, You can count me in this Build. I have a number of partially finished projects which will be completed now. Uh, as to the rules, do not fear about me sneaking in details like seat belts and the like. but I will build these planes my way. As the Mexican Bandito said in the old movie "the Treasure of the Sierra Madres", "We no need no stinkin' details!" Stephen the Simple
EPinniger
I'll definitely be joining this GB - with either the Hasegawa Ki-84 "Frank" or the Revell He162 - once I've finished the Curtiss BF2C for the Carrier GB.

That'd be awesome Stephen! Looking forward to it... I'll definitely be joining this GB - with either the Hasegawa Ki-84 "Frank" or the Revell He162 - once I've finished the Curtiss BF2C for the Carrier GB. Just keep in mind that this one is shorter than the Carrier GB by three months. You might want to start both?
Azgaron
I was thinking of joining with the Hawker Typhoon, I started for the under 50 GB, if it's Ok although I did some minor scratch building! Cheers, Azgaron

Azgaron
Well I added some rims to the otherwise flat instrument panel, and made a small portion of the frame visible through the open engine cowling! That's it, I think! But I'll consider starting a brand new kit too! First of all I'll concentrate on the Carrier GB! Cheers, Azgaron

EPinniger
Just keep in mind that this one is shorter than the Carrier GB by three months. You might want to start both? I should have the BF2C finished within a month, hopefully, so there should be plenty of time left. I have a number of other projects (not 1/32 planes) on the workbench so don't really want to start another!
Haggis
Any banners? I've never qualified for one before and I'm crap with computers so I don't know how to do one (OK, I can't be arsed as I'm too bone idle!)

All one need do is look at my banner to see that I'm no graphic artist either. I usually only throw something together for the six-month GBs but I'll poke around a little and see if I can come up with something. I'd recommend against holding your breath though! Jeff8600
I know this is largescale"PLANES" .com but could you let a large scale Armor slide in? I have a 1/16 Kubelwagen that I've been working on for OOB and this might drive me to get er done! Most all of my 1/32 aircraft have so much after market in them I can't use them!
