Today I received a F4U-7 conversion from Olivier Pinsolle designed for the Trumpeter F4U-4, which contains the following nicely cast resin parts:

Cowling

Forward fuselage plug

Plug behind canopy incorporating bump

2 radial wheels

Gun ports

2 main gun bay covers

10 wing racks

3 fuselage racks, with braces

Complete cockpit, apart from control column

Engine crank case

2 spine aerials

Also included are 2 vacuform canopies, and a cd rom containing a great many pictures of the real thing, both detailed of the existing plane, and back when it was in service. Price is 80 Euros, with 10 Euros postage to the UK.

Olivier doesn't have any plans at present to produce a F4U-5N, I did ask, but an AU-1 conversion is in the pipeline.

Spada make a large decal sheet containing options-though I notice from a pic in the Wing Masters article that Olivier got markings for 15F, whereas I didn't, but then I'm doing a 12F plane so if you want specific marking it's best to ask: http://www.spada-decals.com/cariboost1/crbst_68.html

There is an article by Olivier on producing the F4U-7 in Wing Masters magazine, No 65, which is in French.

And there are a couple of builds on the following sites, two are by the same modeller, but one is in English the other two in French: http://fighters.forumactif.com/vos-montage...-32e-t18338.htm

For this one click on Gallery, then planes: http://www.ansmodelisme.com/

MDC and Eduard make French seat belts, and there is a book, in French, on the F4U-7/AU-1 by Patrick Marchand ISBN 2-914403-17-8

Cool!!!

So, I'll bite, how do I contact Olivier to order a conversion set???

Should be a no-brainer to do an AU-1, as I understand it, the -7 is pretty much a AU-1 with a -4 engine.

I would also like to make contact in order to buy a copy of this conversion. Anyone with an email address or other way of contacting Olivier, hands up please,

Greg

Yes, lots of time has past. This subject was on my mind at the moment for the Trumpeter kit:

Does anyone know if this 1/32 F4U-7 conversion is still available and how to obtain it? I guess the question is how to contact Olivier Pinsolle ?

Does anyone know if a 1/32 AU-1 conversion is available?

You can contact Olivier via this French modelling site http://fighters.forumactif.com/t24786-f-8pfn-crusader-1-32-trumpeterscratch?highlight=crusader the link is for a Crusader build of his, you might need to join, then use the link again. Spada make a set of decals for the dash seven in 1/32, Olivier did plan on making an AU-1 conversion, but I don't know if he did.
