This is an old technique for me from my model railroad days in Germany albiet on a larger scale. Naw man,I just spackle on the plaster,smooth it out with my butter knife or finger and when it gets dry enough I scribe it with a #11 blade. You have to make sure the basic bones are stiff enough so the plaster won't crack though. I learned that the hard way!! The trick is the make the pattern look random. I did this when I laid the paving stones on our patio and it is harder to do than a repeat pattern but you get used to it. J Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
