gunpowder Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Most the photos i have seen of the b-36 peacemaker parked have the elevators deflected up. I also noticed in when i was watching SAC the other day. The peacemaker was taxying with them deflected too. Is it something to do with them being operated with the "trim" tabs?
MikeC Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 I'm not that knowledgeable on this particular type, but that does sound plausible.
Oldbaldguy Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Gust locks when parked? Crew holding aft stick while taxiing? Trim set for takeoff - pre taxi checklist item?
Finn Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 Maybe the answer can be found here: https://www.docdroid.com/d3D4wyb/convair-b-36-peacemaker-flight-operating-instructions-pdf Jari Swatto and gunpowder 1 1
