quang
… and finding Scarlett. Hot on the heels of Amelia Earhart bust, here is my rendition of another legend of aviation: Lydia Litvyak , the female Soviet ace of WWII. I bought the second-hand resin bust at a modelling show a few year ago. It was half-painted. I scraped off the old paint ans started anew. I suspect the sculptor intended to depict the real-life Lydia Litvyak but under my brushes, she ended looking more like Scarlett Johansson. Ah well… Like the previous AE bust, it was entirely done with VallejoModel Color acrylics. Hope you like it. Cheers, Quang The REAL Lydia… The resin version… Edited August 6, 2023 by quang Correcting Lydia’s name Kagemusha, MikeMaben, rafju and 15 others

quang
Thank you Dave. She kept me busy while I’m waiting for the mailman to deliver the new-born from Italeri. Hartmann352
LSP_Ray
Very nice! It looks like the sculptor needed to make the lower jaw slightly wider, which might be why you think she looks a bit like Scarlett Johanson, but you did a great job with the paint! quang
quang
Indeed Ray. For what ever reason, the sculptor missed the overall shape of LL’s head. I found on the internet the pictures of this other bust of Russian origins. It looks much more alike the actual White Lily of Stalingrad as she was known. The pose is more static and the clothing details are somewhat basic but it would make a worthwhile addition if it wasn’t not so rare.
LSP_Ray
Oh, that is a nice bust, and the face is much closer? Who is the manufacturer?
quang
The manufacturer is LERCHIK. I found a link HERE but unfortunately it’s out of stock.
LSP_Ray
Found that one, too. They seem to be still in business, at least in 1/35th scale, but no web presence. quang
