This was a commissioned build by one of the aviators.

 

Custom marking decals, ejection seat upgrades, instrument panel PE, new sidewinder missiles, canopy PE details, etc!

Lovely finish. I like the subtle weathering and generally well-preened finish.

 

Guessing this scheme was from the early 1980s. I recall doing a 1/48 Cowboys F-4N using DIY decals in 1983, just after the Hasegawa F-4 series kicked off! It's funny to think the 1/32 Tamiya J arrived on the scene only fourteen years later!
