LSP_Mike Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Does anyone have opinions or comparisons of the AFV Club vs Rye Field Model Sturmkitty? I have the AFV kit + interior and wonder if the RFM kit is better/ more complete? Culling my 1/35 stash and am keeping 6 kits only, at least for now.
Juggernut Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Well, if you already have the AFV Club kit and the interior for it, the only advantage I can see (after giving each set of instructions a cursory review) is that the RFM kit has individual track links vs. the AFV Club rubber band tracks. Cabbie Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 I have both and there are differences! Ryefield has included 3 different muzzle vent rings that allow different vehicles, check all your pics and count the holes to see what I mean. I noticed that the interior is more complete for Ryefield than AFV Club though. I noticed AFV's transmission was missing the sheet metal cover and you had to buy the Resin interior kit to get one. It was also overscale to boot. Ryefield will force you to buy the add on for the engine compartment to finish fleshing it out for $13. You can find it on eBay easily enough or forgo it if you have no interest on displaying that hatch open. Cabbie
LSP_Mike Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 Thanks for that info. I'm going to go with the kit I have. Parting with most of my 1/35, so choosing the few to keep. LSP_K2 1
