PBJ-1H - did tri-colour scheme birds see WWII action?

Recommended Posts

Good morning,

I have on a whim recently bought Hong Kong Models 1/32 B-25 H.

I am on the look out for schemes for the H which are interesting and well-documented enough to build with some reasonable degree of accuracy (happy to make custom masks etc).

What caught my eye were the PBJ-1H in tri-colour scheme...

There is already a resin conversion for the wing-tip radar in 1/32, but I would like to know did these see action in WWII?

I can’t imagine anything stationed on Hawaii ever saw an enemy ship or plane that late in the war, but happy if that’s not correct.

Any info on PBJ-1H or indeed any other interesting B-25 H schemes would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Nick

Nick, I can’t find any evidence that Dash 1H aircraft saw combat in the pacific.

You mentioned an after market radar pod (Lone Star’s?), but are you aware that Profimodeller does a full conversion set for the PBJ-1H in 1/32?

hi,

thank you for looking

and yes the profimodeller set was what i was thinking of

the more i research it, the more i am likely to go for a 'regular' (non-USMC H)

i quite like the Clana Louise on EagleCals' sheet but cannot find the reference pic(s) they used - driving me nuts!

kind regards,

Nick
