John1
Just stumbled across a surprisingly high quality color video of flight operations on the USS Shangri-La, circa 1962. Nice footage of flight deck action involving A-4's, F-8's and other old school aircraft. Worth checking out for those are on FB. DeanKB
Great quality film. Don't think health & safety had taken hold quite as much back then, with people milling around the flightdeck, running hither and thither, just waiting for an accident to happen. DeanKB
There is a good YouTube video of B-24's being constructed at Willow Run by Ford. They managed to speed up construction by using actual "midgets", who would climb inside the inner wing structure & bolt the outer wing pieces on from inside, before crawling back out through the tiny hole. Jack
and what about that F9F video from '53 , take a look at that too, amazing quality!!! (you'll have to go to the original facebook url for that btw) But on seconds thoughts this footage might also be part of that korea movie "raid on toko ri???"or something like that?
