Erwin
Hi all, Started on the new Revell 32 nd Salamander. Not much to show at this time. Only thing I have doughts about is the fact that the instructions tell to add 45 gr. weight in the nose. But there is very litle space in that nose.So how can it be done ? Tony O
Erwin anything forward of the Cof G will keep it off its tail bumper.
Fancherello
hi you can use fishing lead balls and make them flat with a small hammer, and make them fit with blue tack bye fanch
Chris Hannover - Germany
Hello Erwin, you can attach some weights also in front of the main gear or inside the fuselage. I use mostly weights from a car wheel. Cheers
t.valdez
I use lead dove shot. It's really cheap at many gun shops as they can't hardly give it away as lead shot has been legislated out of existence and replaced with steel shot. It's small and very dense. But there is very litle space in that nose.So how can it be done ? Hi Erwin, A small, hard to notice arrow in the instructions shows where you can add some weight behind the cockpit bulkhead. You're right, it would be a real chore to get 45g in the nose. I have seen some of the on-line build ups use this space behind the cockpit . Erwin
Hi, Thanks for the tips on the weight. I put some small weight in the nose, and if that isn't enough then I will add some behind the cockpit. Starting to look like a Salamander... It's some time away, but I still have to decide what paintsheme to do...perhaps an Afrikakorps Salamander ?
Chris Hannover - Germany
Looks good so far Erwin! One more tip, put two toothpicks in the holes for the main gear, one in each hole. If the nose is going down, it´s enough weight... On that way i balance my planes out. Desertscheme will be an interesting camo... Cheers

Are you talking aftermarket stuff here I only build OoB,and when I say OoB then I mean OoB !! In all my years of modelling, nearly 30 years now,I've never ever added an aftermarket thing to my models. I'm perhaps a rare kind that is happy enough with what's in the box.
Ted Barrett
It looks like it's coming along nicely Erwin. I just started gluing parts together for my Salamander last night. It looks like a nice simple build. Ted Barrett

Ted Barrett Hi Ted, Thank for the friendly comment. If you have just started then indeed you may think it's a simple build. But the kit has some very small fine parts that you need to be carefull with. The LG and the cockpit is not that easy to build. Otherwise it's a nice subject. How about puting your Salamander on the board ?
