Hy all,

my name is Stefano from Rome, Italy.

I'm just building a Nieuport 17 in 1/72 scale, using materials like wood, brass, copper, aluminium etc.

I'll not cover it, I want leave it as an open frame work.

Some photos

This is the beginning

Welcome aboard Stefano!

:post1:

Looks like you've got this project well in hand. And what a project it is! It would be amazing to see you do this kind of work in 1/32 scale.

Oh, the picture limit per-post is 10.

Kev

Thanks Kev.

I chose this scale as a challenge.

Anyway here are other photos.

Hi Stefano,

sorry to be the bugger but I must tell you that you have a big problem: YOU HAVE GIGANTIC HANDS !!

More seriously, this is all VERY impressive !!!

I have tryed the spoking thing on 1/35 motorcycles a while back when I was building armors and that was a millions miles away from what you are doing in 1/72 scale !

My hat off to you

  • 2 weeks later...

That is some of the best scratch work I've seen in a while, and in 1:72 too!

What great work so far. I'm speechless.

Do you have any other work you could show us too?

The situation at the moment.

I was not really satisfied with the wheels, so I made the work from beginning.

No nylon spokes but in metal and rims in aluminium.

The result it seems better to me.

Both wings are almost completed, but work will still be long.

Just amazing work Stefano. Your metal-working and soldering skills are very impressive. Do you have any "in progress" threads anywhere that we could look at, perhaps on an Italian modelling forum?

Best, Jean

Thank you Jean.

If you like my models you can see this and others in my gallery here

in www.modellismopiu.it italian site of which I am a staff member too.

If you are interested in soldering and metal working I suggest you to see the Pak-40 building here ;)
