Looking back at your posts on LSP, it is hard to imagine you have come so far in less than 3 years! You have accomplished something many of us can only dream of - getting what's in your head onto a 3-dimensional canvass. Not only have you created museum quality workmanship, it gets better with each model. Plus, you have taken us all along for the ride. You are an amazing craftsman my friend, and I would like to thank you for sharing your gift with us.......

I've been off the site for a bit of time and when I saw this one, I got knocked right off my chair. It's absolutely first rate all the way around, not only the foiling but the paint and weathering as well. I sit at the master's knee oh Obiwan.

Thanks a heap, very nice of you to say.

I personally really like the way it turned out. Im not sure if its the foil, or more likely I think the excessive weathering, but this guy has gotten NO love from any judges. Took it to the region 5 IPMS regional's, as well as Omacon back in March and it didn't even get a glance from the judges. No big, as anyone who enters contests will attest, the judging is VERY subjective from contest to contest. I really dont build with contests in mind, I just try to look at my models the way an IPMS judge may look at them.

I really did want to talk to the judges to see if there was some glaring error I missed, but never got around to it, at either contest. I cant seem to see any but Oh well, I still like it, and am glad others here do to.

Personally, what LSP modelers think is more important to me than If I take home any awards.

Thanks again for the kind words SD.

I cant believe I missed this build! It's not clean or pretty or whatever it is that contest judges are looking for (what are they looking for anyways?) but I absolutely love it because it is incredibly realistic! Real planes are dirty grimy things, clean models look wrong to me. This one looks right.

You've inspired me to break out the aluminum foil and start experimenting. Reading this thread has given me a few ideas for some of my builds. Thanks for posting this!

...I might need to ask you a few questions in the future.

Not a problem. I'm building the big HK Models B25J and that will be covered in foil. Keep up the great work.

HI Brian – This is so true – build for yourself and those who’s opinion you count. :clap2:

Can’t believe they overlooked this where they blindfolded or did one of you competitors move it or cover her up.

Well goes to show you can lead a judge to water …… then you just need to throw um in!!! :D

As you can guess I liked what you created here. Can’t wait to see the B25 – I was toying with the idea of doing my Glass nose in foil but to terrified of the idea of it I think I will see how it’s meant to be done first!!!!

Happy Days - Taff :D
