DrDave Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Good got all your attention.. The wing fit is a tad tedious, but I warn against doing my usual trick of using Gunze Mr Dissolved putty in the seam and then dissolving in with Mr Color thinner on a Q tip. It works great on other plastics but I am afraid I have half dissolved my Pup and whats left has thumb prints in it! Grrr It was gouing to be the Silver bird in Pheon decals, but now I might have to go dull and see...
LSP_K2 Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Fear not Dave, we all do silly stuff. Last night I painted something with too heavy a coat of acrylic paint. Today, I masked and painted over it, only to remove masking and discover that acrylic had not cured. Guess what that looks like.
jeroenpeters Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Yup, the wing fit indeed is not that great. What i did was deepening the space in the wing and thinning the cockpit floor. That makes for a good fit. Can you use parts of the other hull and lower wing that is included for the other version?
austroace Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 this is good to know as i have started on my pup and i am about to close the fuselage. thanks for the warning
Bob MDC Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Hi Try using Isoproply Alcohol instead of Mr Color thinners needs a bit more work but is less agresive. Bob
OldTroll Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Which Pup kit is it? The RFC or RNAS version?
DrDave Posted February 4, 2011 Author Posted February 4, 2011 RFC Its not too bad in the end. I am starting rigging so I will post some snaps soon
