Looking at the photo I can't tell if the Creep was OD over grey or a VERY faded black? MtFlyer
GeeBee
Open "original size" on the Flikr album: very large photo ! You can see OD/NG line below the name. Have fun ! Jean.
Derek B
Hello Keith, I concur with Jean. The aircraft appears to be a turretless P-61A finished in OD/NG. The radome has recently been painted gloss black as a measure to protect the plexiglas radome from heat cracking. The tail booms of these aircraft tended to get pretty dirty with engine and exhaust grime, but looking closely at the photograph, there appears to be signs of D-Day invasion stripes painted below the national insignia.
