mgbooyv8
Thanks for the compliment, Dan! The flap actuators, hydraulic hoses (lead wire), wheels and pylons were added: I didn't add the rockets, because I didnt like them. The landing light was added with some aluminium foil, shaped with the tip of a ballpoint: The lens was made by filling the hole with Kristal Kleer. The final items added at the bottom were the air brakes, thearrestor hook and some small oil streaks. I had decided to keep the aircraft relatively clean, because naval aircraft are regularly cleaned to avoid salt residue. The Sea Venom looks fairly clean on pictures save some oil streaks at the bottom of the engine. Hey, it is British after all! mgbooyv8
At the top side, there was not much to add. Only the pitot tube on the left fin, made from a pin, a pole antenna on the left tail boom, also made from a pin, a whip antenna on the right tail boom from fishing wire, and the navigation lights on the forward tips of the tip tanks. The last items to add were the canopy, with its latching mechanism added and the windshield wiper: Finally, some very subtle highlights were added with some Gunze gloss coat with a small drop of light grey paint added, followed by a final coat of a homebrew mixture of Gunze gloss and matt cote to obtain a satin sheen. And that means....It is finished!!! More pictures in the RFI section. Cheers, Peter
Harold
That came out fantastic!!!! Great work. Ironic, I just started tinkering on the wheels again. This is my first attempt at adding the outer ring of bolts. Not happy with it, so I am trying something else... mgbooyv8

mgbooyv8
Hi Harold, Thanks for the compliment! Your wheels are already much better than the kit ones. I think I see what you mean with the bolts. They are located on a tricky place on the hub for modelling. Good that you started tinkering with them again. There must be enough Sea Venoms out there that needs them! Cheers, Peter
