rebuilding the 1:18 F-104G as a TF-104G

today I worked on the area behind the back cockpit....

 

The canopy part was made from the Kit-part but was formed with hot water and my dremel

 

On the pic is not glued yet...some putty, sanding and framing and it's ready....

today I made the radar lock on light (left)and the bomb release light (right)on the mid frame of the windshield...

 

then I made the famous cover of the instruments under the canopy...a feature for all starfighters...

 

I just put the canopy on place to see if it fixes good...

 

it looks right! 8)

today I worked some more on the front canopy ...and cut the mid canopy piece out of the canopy of the single seat. That one is somehow higher as the real one, to make room for the pilot figure inside the cockpit...here is a lot to do yet...

I also cut off the front and back canopy. These are vacu formed (many thanks to Glen "KAGNEW" for making them!!)
