  1. hmmm indeed resin more than the cost of the original kit - becoming more and more common the stuff did look great but that is v steep in my eyes i will wait for Revell
  2. i then got round to looking at the chin and radiator etc i read on fank crenshaw's arc build there were problems here the fuselage seems to go together ok without it (i cannot recommend the clamps highly enough btw): i filed the ridge of the sub assembly off to make placement a bit easier in the chin "basin" - the are grooves on the fuselage side which still enable correct alignment and the sub assembly was ready for test fit and it seemed to go in ok however the front of the fuselage opening for the sub assembly should have straight sides on the inside, but the kit part (the fuselage half itself) is curved so i built the sides up with a bit of sheet styrene, sanded them then added some liquid putty and repeated the process not sure the pic shows it, but this simple solution should make things a bit more realistic:
  3. ok, update time...i did this stuff a week ago but have been away for a bit so haven't had the chance to do the upload etc etc this pic enables you to see the "chopped down" oxygen regulator a bit better (although i took the picture from the wrong side by mistake ) and the cockpit walls glued into the fuselage...
  4. i told you i was frequently wrong!
  5. err, i didn't think so... i thought the Revell team went up to Guttorm's museum in Norway and went from there but i could be wrong, and indeed frequently am! the Arsenal stuff does look bloody good though, i have to say!!!!
  6. i see Eduard's E-3 is on their site (no details yet), with a release date of November... it's all good!!!
  7. cheers for the heads up Barry re the 109, i wonder what extra different stuff is required for an E-4/B cockpit...? or indeed would anyone (me?) actually notice the difference?! the 109 pit is on the LuckyModel website but only "available" so it can take a long while to get here btw
  8. wrong: buy it from LuckyModel = no customs charge
  9. my point is that is it IS here on LSP, but only only on some DGs...
  10. re the Mr Surfacer products, doesn't that mash your airbrush? also, what do you thin this and Mr Dissolved Putty with / use to clean your paint brush with if you hand brush it on???
  11. that's cool forgot to say the MAIN reason i use Lucky is that it avoids customs charge bs here in UK... don't you just love the country?!
  12. well, while we are at it, panel lines are usually neither recessed (we love 'em ) or (hesitates to say the word...) raised (we hate 'em! )... but then that's another can of wrigglies isn't it? to me. rivets are not much different in that the ACCURATE scale representation in 1/32 is difficult / nigh on impossible. i guess it depends on what you like to see... please, let's not have a flame war like on that other site! PS Luckymodle doesn't usually do pre-orders, but i bet you it will be cheaper than GM, HLJ...i'm not even going to go there with H's pricing. Uk consumers are being royally (*&*&^%&^%ed!!!!
  13. indeed i was i will ask the Mods about it...
  14. eh? so a widow is not feminine? better i stick to english! PS how come there is a "fast reply" on some forums but not for me here? am i doing something?
  15. hi, I am looking for a picture to help me with me build on the Works in Progress forum here... I am making Eduard's Me109 E-1, and am aware that the angled plate above / behind the pilot's seat is rather poor in the kit. all of the pics i can find on the net are of the instrumentation ie pointing forward - does anyone have a rear facing one that might help me make the kit part a little more authentic? thanks Nick
  16. hmmm that's Galland's E-4 with modified telescopic sight thingy in the pciture, not an E-3, if i am not mistaken??
  17. hi re google translate - have not used it recently as previous results were pretty poor - as are these: it sounds like me after 10 pints. if it were essential that i have the gist of something then fine, but otherwise i am unlikely to fiddle around with it yes i know that is lazy, but hey nobody's perfect! PS as an Englishman, i expect everything to be in English anyway - surely that is the least the world can do in exchange for the greatest linguistic gift the world has to bestow?? now remove tongue from cheek...
  18. hi James from what i have seen so far, there is NO comparison between the two kits one was good for its time, but cannot be compared to the Eduard kit the Ed kit has taken a pounding from some reknowned 109 authorities, but i think they are being harsh: i am a distinctly average modeller and think mine will turn ok, and that the things that need changing are either easy to do, or relatively inconsequential unless striving for 100% accuracy. much of the sentiment has resulted from the canopy affair on the E-4, and how Eduard mismanaged things at the outset. that replacements will now be offered has not exactly resulted in people singing kits praises, which persaonally i think they should: if you want a detailed and pretty accurate 109 E in 1/32, it is a most welcome kit! also looking forward to the Trumpeter kit... Nick "it's all good" Mayhew
  19. thx i am going for the option of engine block but no arms so that it will fit, allowing for "something" to be visible rather than the obvious empty space cheers Nick
  20. yup looks good my jap is a little rusty - was there a link etc to any more pictures in there?? i am really interested in seeing the drop tanks and bombs / bomb racks (i would also have liked rockets but hey you can't have everything right?) also, what schemes they will be giving us? i am sure all will be revealed soon enough thx Nick
  21. hi there, over on the Works in Progress i am building Eduard's 109 E-1 in the colours of a bird that crashed landed on the beach not so many miles from me (Arno Zimmerman's aircraft - http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=25799). i am not sure whether to include the full engine or not, but am not sure whether the engine fits uner the cowling or, like some builds i have seen, if you put the engine in the cowl stays off... i have been following an Arc build by a guy way better than me who seems to have got it to fit, but ultimately i want the cowl on and maybe removable, rather than having it premanently displayed open. i am still in early stages of the kit but forewarned is forearmed and all that... cheers, Nick
  22. thx for your comments both Kevin: i was linking direct from Photobucket and i tried to do the whole lot in 1 post and it blew a fuse!! not a prob though, as i know for next time and will break it up accorindingly right, off to watch some tv!!!
  23. awesome! amazing detail and paintwork!! thx for sharing now if only SOMEONE would do some ErpGr210 decals for the 110 in 1/32!!!!
