  1. Rigor, The 102 is vac.No resin kits at all for the 102.Larry
  2. Just started it. Comments welcome. Larry
  3. Eli, Depending on the price of the kit and from what others have done with it and since harold has made some really great resin pits and seats. It's up to u if u want to spend whatever money someone is asking for it.I have built three and have never had a problem with either build.I paid about 20.00 for mine and traded for the others.prices are about 20-25.00 for these kits. But some can be had for about 15.00.It's up to u on what u want to do.Larry
  4. Jay, There are several pic's of the guys who have built the 109's here on the site.Everything i have seen as to attaching the harness in the back of the rear deck. The pic's on the site will show u the way.Larry
  5. Harold, I have both ID plans for the F-84F and the F-84G.Will send them as soon as the items u sent me show up.if that's ok with u.Larry
  6. Harold, If i remember right.I think i have a copy of the ID plans from the streak kit.If u wish.I can take a look at my vac plans and see if i can find it if u wish.Larry
  7. jack, I think i know where u got that ID vac of the Thunderstreak.I wish i had it.Larry
  8. Harold, I have been waiting for this as to someone gearing up for a pit for the F-84G and the bang seat. Now i have to get a vac kit from jeff. To anyone else as to Jeff Robert's making the Combat line of kits.Jeff has really boned up here as to releasing alot better castings as to when the owner had the molds. The clear parts are alot better and more clearer.Parts are more cleaner as to the ones i have in the stash. And remember guys.ID is KAPUT.Combat is the only game in town or as to anyone who has a ID kit and wants to sell it.That will be up to that person to do so.Larry
  9. Thor and the rest who have been working on or are interested in doing a vac, Well,I never have built the kingfisher as to u getting the one i had.U did a great job on here and it turned out all right. But as to thor and what he has been doing and others from the posting.vac has it's limitations. But anything that would go wrong, can be fixed easly. Like jack said. It's basic and it's on the same level as the plastic kits. But just has a thin skin.ID that the right idea as to using a sheet plastic which gave it a some what thicker shin and not as combat when john owned it.jeff has brought up his skills as to use a better quality sheet plastic and the molds are some what better than before. If u do not undestand vac, then one should give it a go.Start out small as to a 72nd scale kit as to get the feel of it.Fllow the plans that the kit comes with and go at it.Us guys who build vac will be more than happy to show u what's what.Larry
  10. AB5, Very well said.I feel that some have not tried or afraid to try a vac.Always been told to start out in a small scale as 72nd.But i jump in with both feet and did my first vac of the P-61.That was in 92' and haven't looked back at all.Larry
  11. Jack, Get out of Dodge!U'er work on the Tigercat is alot better than the first one i did.It seems that u have covered what i missed before. And that two cents worth u mentioned.I'll bump u two more and make it four cents worth to help u out.U might be slow. But slow works for u as to doing what u'er doing with the ID kit of the cat.Larry
  12. Thor, U'er father ZEUS is calling u!Be aware of Volhala calling u for not getting the OWL done.U'er brothers in arms is also waiting to see what u have been doing as to this ssslllloooowwww process. But that's what vac is all about. And us should stay away from all the ALE ro whatever u are drinking these days.In all seriuosness.Hope u'er having fun doing the owl.Larry
  13. Come on Jeff,Show us what u can do with that 335.Larry
  14. Hey Jeff, I'll be right behind u as for the upcoming B-26.It should go well with my htree B-25's and my two 17's and 24's.Did u ever finish the one u were doing on the site.never saw anything else as to the 335 u were doing? Here is what i have done as of the first i did in 92.Might give u an idea of what i have built vac wise. Vac to me is as to the wooden models that were made in the mid to late 50's.But same as to sanding, shaping and then some.Larry 1.P-61 X2 2.P-39X3-Built one for a customer.Converted one to a P-63 King Cobra. 3.F-105X2-Built one for a guy who flew thud rig to downtown hanoi. 4.DO-217-converted to a DO-215. 5.B-24 Combat kit built as a J model 24. 6.B-24 Converted to a D model 24. 7.JU-88 and 109 Mistel. 8.JU-88C-6 Nightfighter. 9.B-57X2-Built one for a customer. 10.F8F BearcatX2 11.HE-219x2-Sold one. 12.F7U CutlassX2-Sold both 13.F-101 VOO DOO-Sold it. 14.F-100X3 15.A-7'sX2-One navy and one Air Force types. 16.F7F TigercatX2 17.F-80X2-Traded one and sold one. 18.F9F pantherX1-Sold it. 19.F3D Skynight.Sold and i miss that big plane. 20.A-26 Invader with the eight gun nose version/ 21.F-106X2-Sold the first one. 22.F-102X2-Sold the first one. 23.TA-152 H-1 24.TA-152 C-1 25.HO-229-Sold it. 26.Macchi-202 Sold it. 27.TBF-1C-Sold it. 28.MIG-23-Sold it. 29.SU-27-Sold it. 30.B-17G I think this gives and anyone else what vac can do for a person who enjoys building vacs or plastic kits.Hope i didn't bore u or anyone else.Larry
  15. UmTutSut, As to what the other guys have said. When i did my first vac 17 years ago.It was the P-61,But some said that i should start out small as to 72nd scale. It's as jerry says.U have skeletonial parts that need work and rework.U have to sand, fit sand some more and refit. If u have the skills to do a regular kit, with all the bells and whistles.then the next step to hone u'er skills is vac. It's the last frontier for anyone to do vac. Never,Ever let someone or anyone for that matter talk u out of anything.Talk is cheap and it belittles the whole process as to what was said on the HS discussion board.I know that person as to others that know him also.We all make remarks and etc. as to what is bad or what is good. Built it.Enjoy it.And u will learn from u'er mistakes big time.I have made so many mistakes from the time i did my first vac, that it still a learning curve for me.And this is regardless on what u do or how u go about it.U follow the plans and use if possible a 48th scale instruction sheet for said kit u have.It always give u more intel than u think. And for further help.Go to google and hit the search engine with what u'er working on.Again,All the intel u can handle is there. And be sure to get lots of super glue and hardener.Regular glue is no go here in building vacs.Tried that along time ago and it way wrong. There are others here that build vacs and i'm sure as myself,we can help u through this as well.Do not feel that u can not do this build. The following are a few of the guys who do vacs.Larry Graham marsh, aka Lancman Jack who is working on a F7F Tigercat. Spads57 Perry Wingman777 if i remember right. Derek Bradshaw There are some others. But have forgot who they are.But they may pop up here to help u out.Larry
  16. Perry, For u'er first vac.U'er off to a good start.Doing the gear legs is one thing one should try to do as to cutting the parts off the carrier sheet. One thing i will let u know as to the plans and parts.Sometimes the plans are not as to the parts as to length of fuselage and etc. U have cutout the main parts and i have noticed in the backround on posting the gear legs as to using formers,or better known as bulkheads. That too is another wise choice for u.It gives strength and it will make it easy to glue them together. As to the fuselage and getting it together as to the pit and anything u are planning on doing detail wise.Use 1/8th square balsawood strips to the inside edge of the fuselage on both sides.Top and BottomThen sand them down and test fit them several times.U might have a gap here and there. But gap sealing super glue and hardner will cure that. And same glue wise for the nacelles and attaching them to the bottom of the wings. And a HARDY Good luck on this build of the whirlwind.and one last thing for sanding the parts down.Use 240 and 220 wet and dry type of papaer. It will cut the parts down quickly. But go some what slow here.Larry
  17. AB5, Or should i say.Lt.Fuji.BANZAI!!!!That is one sweet looking judy.Have u ever considered doing the radail engine JUDY?And that pete is really looking nice.Alwyas like the PETE as to it looking like a zero. And what kit or where did u get the intel to build one in 32nd scale.U have it covered good as to doing both of those excellent builds.Again i say.BANZAI,BANZAI,BANZAI!Larry
  18. AB5, U'er in the same boat as me.It seems when i start a vac or any kit for that matter.I get into it so bad.that it takes me until i get tired. At least she's done.Larry
  19. AB5, Did i read that right.U'er done with JUDY?That was one fast build to say the least.I thought when i did a vac.that two to three weeks or so was along time for me.But can not wait to see JUDY.Larry
  20. Jay, If u can get the issues of SAMI and there were three or four of them that cover ALL the versions and the detailing of the pit and the wheel wells and etd.U would have it made for sure. But if one takes his ideas and applies them to this kit.U may see what one can or may do to it. And by the way.Do u still need the parts for the C and G 110's u posted over on HS?Larry
  21. Graham, Hope the cruise u and u'er wife took turned out OK!Looks like the flooring is coming along great.Larry
  22. So!Pizon, It looks like the work u have done has turned out very well.El Duce! is very Impressed with u'er work and hope that the pizza has turned out as well as to the camo u did on u'er to the second prototype.Magnifico,Pizon!Larry
  23. Alf18, Decided on the two tone blue as to the intel some have given me and as well from the google site.Larry
  24. Jack, have to hand it to u as to u always coming up with things that work well on the vacs that u build. That electrical fittings thing is really GENIUS!Larry
  25. Jon, I would cruise the site as for those on the GB that have done the zero. That way u can see what the others have used and done for the pit as to using the zinc chromate.Larry
