  1. Hi, Mates, Yesterday I managed to scribe some circles and oblongs. Viewed up close you can see that it is not perfect, but do not demand much Started also to drill holes for fasteners of the engine and oil tank covers. The idea is to insert into these holes flat slices made of plastic rod (0,8 mm), so that it will not be just a hole or protruding "pimple" (as proposed by Revell/Matchbox), but something more or less similar to actual fasteners. Will see. Best regards Hubert
  2. Oh yes, I'm thinking about Seafire 47 too, but I'd rather go with Tamiya's kit. Look here: http://www.geocities.jp/yoyuso/spit47/spit47e-3.html Thanks for your nice comments! Best regards Hubert
  3. Thanks, Gents. This kit is a challenge, something really close to older short-run standards, so lot of patience required. The worst thing is that most of the panel lines out of box are SF, but correcting all these faults is not my plan - it is just intended to look fine from 1 meter distance, it will be ... 32 meters in reality ..., that's all. Yesterday the postman delivered new templates from Hasegawa, so I have just started to scribe missing circles and oblongs. Update soon, so stay tuned Best regards Hubert
  4. I'm using these paints and this set - the only word to describe them in a fair way is: PERFECT. Highly recommended, combined with Mr Hobby Leveling Thinner. Great finish and durability, absolutely no risk that it peels off with a masking tape. Fantastic progress, Kev - keep it up. Best regards Hubert
  5. Hi All My Ki-43s stalled for a moment - just not enough time for hobby, especially airbrushing in the interior (I need at least 2-3 peaceful hours for each session, but it is hard to find even one), therefore I'm slowly progressing other projects, which do not require any airbrush work. Hope will be able to come back to this next week. So, in the meantime, I decided to restart Revell's Spitfire Mk. 22, which I started around a year ago, but gave up temporarily due to its poor fit and lack of detail - and the most important, lack of idea, how to paint it. This time it is most of all an exercise in riveting (using RB tool and must say it is fun) - doing this for the very first time, so didn't want to spoil any better or more expensive kit... Anyway, going to add here some more details from the scratch: upgrade wheel wells and gear covers, add formation lights - this is really a vintage kit and it shows. In the end I hope to get a result, which will look nice in the second row on my shelf in Southern Rhodesian markings. That's how it looks like now: filed almost smooth, riveted, with some new panel lines (and some more to be scribed on), new position lights, drilled out exhaust stacks, upgraded cockpit.... Feel free to comment and stay tuned. Best regards Hubert
  6. Hi, Mates Starting this simultaneously with 1:32nd Hayabusa - will be good to see them both next to each other. A slightly different approach, as I'm going to use a resin cockpit from SBS (just amazing), photo-etched parts and some other upgrades - so that the level of detail will not be less than in 1:32nd - if not better. Feel free to comment. Best regards Hubert
  7. Hi, Mates It is a good time to start another large scale project - Ki-43-II Hayabusa. Well, it is certainly a "jurassic plastic" but - as usual with me - this will not be a quick build, so there's no way to have it done by April end. Just like in case of my Ki-61, I'm going to build simultaneously Ki-43-II in 1:48th scale - will be posting it in Non-LSP Works. For the beginning few shots of the kit and the rest of the staff. Those raised panel lines... will remain. I'm going to try to recreate the way the panels were installed, each one overlapping the edge of the next. Feel free to comment. Best regards Hubert
  8. Thanks, Mates Not much of the engine will be seen when its finished, but you're right - it is one of the best points of this kit. Cowling corrected and installed, the model starts to take shape. Hope you like it . Best regards Hubert
  9. Many thanks, Kev. And once again thanks Mates - for watching and your comments, very much appreciated. Best regards Hubert
  10. Amazing. I mean absolutely A M A Z I N G ! Best regards Hubert
  11. Thanks, Mates. This is such a kit, that brings a new surprise each time you take it on your workbench... this will take few minutes to correct, I hope. Engine in its place. Best regards Hubert
  12. Thanks, Mates. AK's pigments, mainly smoke, burnt umber and dark earth. Silver spots applied with Sharpie Metallic silver marker. Glad, that you like this effect . Best regards Hubert
  13. Hi All, One of my long distance projects: PZL. 43A from Mirage Hobby, started about two years ago... Tough kit, lot of fitting problems, brittle plastic and unclear instructions - but if you want to build one, this is the only way. Hope the result will be worth the effort. Going to build it in the Polish Air Force markings, just as it looked like in September 1939. Here you will find two photos: Odkrywca.pl Feel free to comment and stay tuned. Best regards Hubert
  14. Nicely done and really large scale, one can feel it looking at these photos. Like it a lot. Best regards Hubert
  15. Many thanks, Kev. Sure you can publish them, I'd be honoured. Photos were taken at night, these with the white background are not good unfortunately (probably due to the warm light in the other corner of the kitchen... atelier), will probably have to be retaken in the daylight. Best regards Hubert
  16. Brawo Ty Superb, as usual with your works, and very inspiring in every detail. Best regards, Hubert
  17. Many thanks, Mates - I'm really glad that you like it Now I'm thinking about my next move... this will be probably something "made in Japan", just for a change . Stay tuned, best regards Hubert
  18. Thanks, Lothar Last seven photos: Best regards Hubert
  19. And some photos with the black background: Best regards Hubert
  20. Hi, All Kawasaki Ki-61 - I Hei Hien, s/n unknown, Chofu, February 1945, defense of Kanto region, including Tokyo. Machine flown by Taii Fumisuke Shono from 244th Sentai. The aircraft has modified radio installation and dismantled Venturi tube, however some device (connecting rod?) previously hidden inside remained. This machine was repainted several times between January and March 1945: green camouflage was removed in January (but some remnants of it remained on upper sides of ailerons, what I'm trying to show here), and in March she was camouflaged again with dark green mottling on upper surfaces and sides. White stripes on wings and fuselage identified airplanes assigned to the homeland defense air force. Very well known Hasegawa's kit, to which I added the resin cockpit from Aires, QB exhaust stacks, wheel well covers and machine guns from Master. Markings sprayed using the Masks from Kagero's book "Topcolors, Fighters over Japan part. 1" . Many thanks for all the comments in my workshop thread, very much appreciated. Hope you like the result Best regards Hubert
  21. For me six months is average for one model ... at the same time you have finished a couple of them, each and every one fantastic. Spectacular build and excellent photography. Thanks for sharing. Best regards Hubert
  22. Fantastic! Nice and clean, what a beauty. Actually, this is one of the kits I've been thinking about since I came back to the business - got to buy one Best regards Hubert
  23. Hi, Andrew Really nice Fencer, but those decals spoiled the finish indeed. Don't know if it is still a good time, but maybe application of Decal Softener 3 from Bilmodel could help. It is available in Poland, don't have any idea about its availability in Australia, but it can be a remedy for silvering decals not before, but after the problem occurs. Sprayed onto the decals it just dissolves the film, leaving only the print. Best regards Hubert
  24. Hi, Mates Well, it seems that I'm now on the home straight - only few touch-ups here and there required, and the antennas (I really hate this part). Wing-mounted machine guns are from Master (Mauser MG 151/20, very characteristic feature of Hei variant). Best regards and see you in the Ready for Inspection "department" soon. Hubert
  25. Thanks, Jim. It is pale blue indeed - however the photos of the actual aircraft show quite pale shade here too. Best regards Hubert
