  1. A guy on FB posted that KH/Panda just got bought by Hobbyboss, but I can't find any info to confirm this. Anyone else heard the news???? Tim
  2. I need them to sand down some fingerprints I made in some Apoxie sculpt the other night. I'll have to look them up on Ebay! Tim
  3. I'm looking for a set of flexible sanding pads as I don't have any to use. What brand does everyone use? Tim
  4. The last work for tonight was the seat back area. I started the seat back by using 2 part Apoxie sculpt and then sculpted the shape of the back. I just need to let it dry, so I can sand the fingerprints out of the clay. I made the back cover the same way and punched out .8 mm discs from styrene to represent the snaps on the back and threw in some wrinkles using a needle chucked in a pin vise. Front Back That's it till next weekend. Tim
  5. Next up for detail is the inertia reel lock/unlock lever. I simulated that by using a small piece of 020 styrene sanded to shape and the lever was a piece of leftover PE from the Academy H-60 set. The wire is .015 lead wire. Here's the real deal: And here's my detail: Close enough for me. Comments welcome! Tim
  6. Today I finished up gluing down all 24 tiny PE Phillips screw heads. Talk about eyestrain! I then glued on the small bits of PE in the middle and I'm calling this done. Comments welcome! Tim
  7. John, all the M models and the HH med birds all have the new style seats. I'm not sure if the panel is armored, but I'll find out for ya. EDIT: John, I checked with my HH-60G crew chief friend and he told me that yes they are armored. Tim
  8. I've been working on scratchbuilding the seat back of the new style crew seats. I plan on making the seat bottom so that it can be posed in the up or down position. Anyhoo, here's the progress so far. And a little teaser pic with the seat placed on the seat pallet. The pallet is about 80% complete. I just need to add the PE screw heads to the floor. That's all for now Tim
  9. What brand and color grey did you use for the cylinder head? Tim
  10. We offered our help through Floyd because at the time, the only 1/35 H-60 model out there was from Academy and quite frankly, it was atrocious. We knew that with the input from former H-60 pilots and crew chiefs, that the model would be light years better in accuracy. As for the free models, that was our reward for helping in its design. A "thank you" from KH as you will. I will never understand how this all came out all of a sudden. There had to be a large outside influence or circumstance that may or may not have been COVID related to cause this decision to be made. I think none of us saw this coming! I was so looking forward to a new tooled MH-60M special ops hawk! According to the schedule, I think that was next in line right after the roll out of the MH-60S. Tim
  11. I don't know how well they sold either and frankly, I was kinda surprised that they released that many Navy birds back to back. I thought maybe they would mix it up, but it wasn't the case. At least our team got a free model of every H-60 for helping out before they decided to pull the plug. I've got every Navy helo laying beside me in a box. Can you say collectable stash??? Tim
  12. As a member of the R&D team under Floyd, we (former crew chiefs/pilots) made EVERY effort to make the H-60 as accurate as possible. Hours were poured into our research and proofing of the CAD's before they got it right. In the end, KH still ignored some of what we told them to change. I personally hope that these molds are picked up by someone and rereleased. Speaking for myself, I invested alot of time helping R&Ding hopefully not for naught. The H-60 kits were accurate. If the molds aren't picked up, then we as a modeling community have to revert back to building the crappy Academy H-60 kits. Tim
  13. No problem. I didn't see the other topic before I posted mine. No biggie. Tim
  14. It's been officially announced that Kitty Hawk models is shutting down production and going out of business. If you want any Kitty Hawk kits, better get em now before the price goes up, the hoarders swoop in and everything is gone. I sure hope someone buys the molds. I was 1 of 7 people including Floyd Werner that was the research and development team for their line of 1/35 H-60 series Hawk helicopters. I was SO looking forward to the MH-60M they had planned!!! Man this news hit me like a gut punch. Tim
  15. 160th SOAR are the only units that fly DAP's. I'm sure Floyd can hook you up with some DAP decals. Tim
  16. Ok. Will do when I get home from work. I've also been contacted by a member of the ABM social media team and asked me some questions about the problem. I made a video of the mistakes with the book and I'll send it to him tonight. Fingers crossed! Tim
  17. I bought it off of Ebay. This was definitely a quality misprint that shouldn't have left their factory. I've joined the ABM FB page and left a message. Hopefully they'll see it. Still no email reply back to me yet though. Tim
  18. I see the pilots are still mad at each other!!! Great work on the equipment Pete. They look awesome all crammed in the back. Gives the back that busy ready for a mission look! Tim
  19. Hopefully the problems AND the prices get fixed! Tim
  20. The 44 page bonus book is the one I have. I looked at the 3 sample pictures you posted and the 1st pic of the cockpit area is missing from my book also. Sure hope this gets straightened out! Tim
  21. Kev, did you ever check your review copy? Still no word from Ammo by Mig. Tim
  22. I shot them an email and waiting for a reply. Tim
  23. Nothing but the best work as usual, Pete. Tim
  24. Maybe someone from Mig is a LSP member. If so, I'd like to talk to them. Tim
