  1. Hi Mike, I contacted Brian through the contact us section of their website Friday or Saturday but haven't heard anything back from him. Does it usually take a day or so to hear back from him? I also put a bug in his ear on what I thought was a good suggestion and fairly easy to make compared to the set their about to release, wingtip ramjets for the P-51D. I'm asking because I need to know how to pay for the preorder set. Thanks, Brady
  2. So you're talking a real life come back not a chance at a come back as a model stresser? That would be awesome to see there be more Enforcers built, they never got any real glory. Brady
  3. Is there any hope in eventually seeing a Piper Enforcer conversion set too? I'd love to see one in either 1/48 or 1/32 or better yet both scales. I've already done a 1/48 Heritage conversion so I'd be interested in doing another in 1/32 scale too. I'd really love to see an enforcer in 1/32 and not some 1/48 vacuform conversion that needs an entire interior scratch built. I'll probably be looking into pre-ordering one of these sets. Cheers, Brady
  4. Check, Thanks for sharing those shots of a FRIX here earlier even though that's not what Peter is making here. I'll use those for when I modify the extra fairings that are meant to be used under the wings that come with the Alley Cat Spitfire PR XI conversion for making the FRIX "Violet Dorothy" on that decal sheet I made reference to earlier. Still looking amazing Peter keep it coming! Cheers, Brady
  5. Hi Mark, That's what I was hoping for, but it has been 48 hours since I applied the decals and I'm still seeing the cloudiness, which is starting to make me nervous. Cheers, Brady
  6. Hi Peter, I don't know if this is really what you're looking for as far as the fairings for the cameras on the sides but the Aviaeology decals have some good schematics of these fairings especially for the FR IX, what I didn't do is re-read if all of this applies to the FR XIV too. You can see the attached photos in this EBay auction right now, if you want scans of them, I can do that when I'm at home later today, because I have these decals. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RCAF-Fighter-Recce-Spitfires-CinCF2-Aviaeology-Docs-Only-/282130685199?hash=item41b04c9d0f:g:IQAAAOSwEK9UA0CB I hope this is somewhat helpful. Keep up with the awesome work! Cheers, Brady
  7. Hi guys, I'm back with more of a question than progress this time. I have a bit of a problem now that I've put decals down. It appears to be some sort of chemical reaction that makes the coat of Future look cloudy. I think this is due to using Micro Sol and Micro Set on the decals and maybe using them too much. This cloudiness will temporarily disappear with a wipe of a cotton swab wet with just water. Do you guys think it will go away permanently when I give the whole plane another coat of Future? Thanks, Brady
  8. Hi Jim, Brian, Thanks guys for the compliments and motivation to keep going and get it finished. I liked this camo pattern on the 1/48 Hasegawa kit and figured why not I can do it on a 1/32 scale Tamiya kit, not to mention some sellers want just as much for the Hasegawa kit as a Tamiya kit just because it is a limited edition. I also just like some of my subjects to be more unusual than the boring same old same old. Hi Tom, I'm glad I can be of help in helping someone else's learning curve advance here. I hope to get it finished soon and probably start a Spitfire, either a PR XI or Johnny Johnson's Beer Spitfire. Cheers, Brady
  9. Hello everyone, I'm back with more progress on the Zero. I'm pretty much to the final stages of decals and then another coat of Future followed by a flatcoat. Here's where I am as of now: The tiny decals on the side for panel alignment are there and done too, I just forgot to snap a shot of them, not that it's much to see. That's all for now. Cheers, Brady
  10. Hi Danny, I see, so you don't spend much money on someone else's premade wash you make your own concoction of a wash. I haven't ever tried that. Cheers, Brady
  11. Hi Danny, Awesome build so far, I'm sorry if I missed this but what paints and washes did you use here? Keep up with the good work. Cheers, Brady
  12. Awesome research John! I've been given these same photos from Dana himself before and studied them myself a lot. I never knew much about the story of monster, just that it was supposed to look like one on the other side. What's your input on the girl? Are you going island dark skinned girl or light skin tone? I'm starting to lean more towards the dark skinned girl more myself, but that's kinda a disappointment for me because I have the awesomely printed Pyn-up decals for this bird and they only have the light toned skin girl. Looking forward to seeing more of your build here. Cheers, Brady
  13. Doing a search on Google I saw Richard that you once did a review on an FR 47 set from Brits Bits too. Which one is a better conversion really? Thanks, Brady
  14. Very interesting stuff, I did find an old build of a Mk XVII with a homemade wingfold that looked awesome here but I don't think Bob (elric) ever mass produced it for anyone else to use. PM sent Richard, I'm interested in the conversion set. Cheers, Brady
  15. Dang that Freightdog conversion looks really appealing. I'd love to get one of these sets to build. For some reason a Mk XVII also has always kinda tripped my trigger too. Cheers, Brady
  16. Hello everyone, The title says it all are there any good Seafire Mk XVII or FR 47 conversion sets out there? I'd like to be able to do a Seafire with the wings folded that's why I'm leaning towards a Mk XVII or a FR 47. Thanks, Brady
  17. Cool good to hear. I found a thread on this particular kit afterbI asked here and it sounds like everyone plans to hold them to pretty high levels of expectations. A question for you in particular though Kevin, I saw in that thread your favorite P-51D was Major Harry Crim's "My Achin'A**", which paint scheme is your favorite the one with fewer victories, and two Pin-up girls or more victories and just the one on the gear door? I had Kits World decals make the decals for his P-51 with two girls on it, but they screwed up the data block and it says it's a P-51C with a bogus serial number in it, otherwise it's right. Cheers, Brady
  18. Sweet! I hope they do, are their kits good as far as being accurate in shape and quality usually? Sorry for the dumb questions, I haven't built any of their kits yet. Thanks, Brady
  19. Hi guys, I'll vouge that as of last week she was sitting in the restoration hangar of the Pacific Aviation Museum on the island of Oahu Hawaii. Damn I soooo wanted to stay and help them until she was airworthy again..... I've done WWII aircraft restoration and there's nothing in my book like it. Maiden flight is always bone chilling and nerve racking, but such an awesome moment. Cheers, Brady
  20. I've been trying to get Paul Fisher to do an F2G conversion for the Tamiya kit over on the Fisher Models part of the Vendors board guys. Please put your two cents in there it was a hot topic but it's started to drop off. Paul is basing his decision off of interest and if an F2G conversion or entire kit would sell for his efforts. I'd like to see the experimental P-51D with Ramjets on the wingtips A P-51H A Piper PA-48 Enforcer conversion would be awesome too. Skis for the P-51A, the P-47, the Bf-109 and a FW-190. A conversion for a Spitfire PR XIX A conversion to make the Tamiya A6M2 a two seater A6M2-K A conversion to make the Tamiya Spitfire IX a two seater a Spitfire T9 Cheers, Brady
