  1. You are right, the over all quality of the kit is not bad, the details are among the best, but keep an eye on the fitting when you join the one-piece wing part to the fuselage, i also came across a bad fit for the bottom access door of the engine compartment. Good luck on your build of the G2
  2. No doubt, this is the source of inspiration for my Mustang project, I've book marked this page sir.
  3. Thank you guys for your good words, I posted a few more pictures this morning for those who would not visit my facebook site, nevertheless, my facebook page for this albumn is open for public which means anyone doesn't need to be a facebook member for visiting the albumn. Cheers
  4. My full name is Andy Liu, from Auckland New Zealand. Thanks again!
  5. Thank you, you may publish it on the website if you'd like to
  6. I just finish this build, a Trumpeter kit in average quality. Please follow the link for more images: http://www.facebook.com/liu.andy.3701/media_set?set=a.622232611258941.1073741828.100004166226490&type=3 Hope you enjoy it. Cheers
  7. Ok, a little update, today I'm gonna work on the pit. This is what the stock pit looks like, as you can see from the picture, the control stick looks awfully big enough to sit on a 1/18 kit. The best solution is to replace it with a resin product, but again the policy of the build -- no after market products are allowed, so I'll live with it. My job on the pit: adding a step on the floor right under the instrument panel, adding a shaft at the bottom of the control stick to allow the pilot to push down and pull up the nose, adding a block of plastic on the back of the bottom half part of the instrument panel to make it have a depth look, adding a pair of simple foot pedals to make it looked busier. This is what the pit looked like after my work on it.
  8. Many thanks for your help Lain.
  9. This is the Trumpeter F/A-18E, the kit is a suspect of being a size-up copy from partially the Revell 1/48 kit and partially from the Hasgawa 1/48 kit. While there is not serious shape problem in the air frame, it's a shame to tell the details is very sparse and erroneous in many places. It's obvious that Trumpeter was rushing to fill up the gap in the market for this subject, in this scale. In this build, I'm neither gonna super detail this monster, nor am I willing to rectify all the errors of the kit, in stead, I'll only work in areas here and there to upgrade the model to an acceptable standard of myself. I only use styrene sheets and rods, as well as some copper wires of various thickness, but not after market stuff, since I think this kit is worthless for any further investment on it. Start from the bang seat, the original setting of the seat looks like this, totally toyish and unusable, (also a bold evidence of a enlarged copy of the Revell 1/48 kit). There is also a shape problem on the seat, the backrest should narrow up from the bottom upward, but it now looks squared, this leads to the whole headrest part being over sized, I'm not gonna correct it here, just try to make it looked better by adding some details. My modification: A view of how the seat sits into the pit tube: To be continued...
