Very nice photography,
Oh, and the build work ain't to shabby too. must be an artist type too.
We are who we are and we build as we like to build but one thing that can help (it helps me). These things were built by human hands,
and thus were far from 'perfection in sheet metal'.
If you get a chance to look at a original WWII kite in a museum look closely and you'll say, oh my.

Spitfire P9374 had a Merlin III, and a Merlin II is shown, but they are essentially the same powerplants

The wing is from Hasegawa MkII box, they made a new engraved panels wing and boxed it up with the old MkV fuselage that has raised panel lines. Just to clarify.
starting with a Packard Merlin 1650 from a tamiya kit, the generator mount suitably modified.
and the supercharger getting there

Hi,
Thanks for your input Harv, Maru, Andy and Geedube.
I have to look at the instructions, but I think this goes in the cockpit.
Geedube, you mean something like this?

This is the Hasegawa wing, for those you are not familiar with the Hasegawa MkV kits. It just won't do in the 21st century.
And the Horizontal tail
I need to have separate control inputs

We are just adding some lost stringer/former detail
How much of this will be seen? A lot!
Oh, by the way, my MkXVIII build concurrently with this MkI
Surprise Surprise!

Will throw this into the mix.
Wow!
Used clamps and hot water to form the resin panels to the fuselage.
.
I have to remove the undercarriage selector, this kite had the hand pump.

That's that for the ailerons

fitting the flap section on the upper wing, need to mark the hole for the flap indicator. The red dot marks the spot for the indicator
a trial fit of the RH aileron, not to shabby

we start with a dremel and a wide cut off wheel, then we use a very small file to cut the slot.
and then we add some hinges, they are overlong but the correct width.

we cut out the ailerons on the Hasegawa wing and fit the HB ailerons because the HB ailerons were already separated. and then marked were the hinges are with tape.
these just show how we mark the hinges on the wing first, then transfer the hinge line to the ailerons, the ailerons are not glued together.
and then make the slot for the hinge
