  1. Thx Nic.

Agree, its a beautiful aircraft, one thing is for shure, ill build couple of theese/replay, i love them :)

But they are hard to come by in stores in sweden, some stores stopped take in 1:32 scale.....due poor sales...

    Well, got ebay :D, i expectin a FW190A 7 ;) soon....

But my favorites is bf109 ;), of course 1/32 :)

  2. Yes ill get my hands on them for shure ;).

I use both pre and post..., preshading is in control, done it since first build...

Im more stuck in postshading thats the difficulty for me, Assi have postshading and it turned out very good and i am very pleased with Assi ;)

Well more modells to build and learn from each new experiance, try new things and master the new skills :D, its so fun :D

My first attempt with an Resin cockpit (a prewiew pics, ill post a build log soon on LSP)

  3. True :)

    109 is my favorite and each new 109 that i build learn a bit more about them ;

The camo the 109 have got so many variants, and they are really fun to build and paint.

Im still very much in my learning period specially using Airbrush, started last year and never held one before, and bf109 (german fighters) shure improves my Airbrush skills, freehand mottling is so fun :D i use the Airbrush for lots of weathering to ;).

Got me a HS Infinity 2 in 1 and i am very happy with it and i take much care of it since its a precision tool i use alot :D

Have a shot of my No:10 Trumpeter BF109F 4 that i modified into a G2 Tropic, i tried many new things that i learned and it was fun to build, my first attemt heavy weathered BF109.....

The only decals used was the cross on the tail and the JG27 Africa emblem and few warning decals

I even painted the red line on the wing :)....

This one went ok, not the perfect one, prefer Hasegawa or Eduard :)

But it turned out ok, i learned alot during my No:10.

This one is my really second attempt with postshading, difficult to master, but im still practicing and learning the art of modelling ;)

  4. Thx Tomas

Im stuck in what i call BF109 swamp , but im building other birds as well, but main love for ww2 birds is bf109, love the lines, looks fast and mean :D

Also A6M i love the lines, im still waiting for my Tamiya A6M2 to arrive :D

I got a lot of help from a swedish fellow modelbuilder Mattias that have impressiv knowledge specially about BF109 :), he is a very skilled model builder.

He have helped me alot during my builds, downs and ups, giving me alot of feedback and inspired me and so on

  5. Thx

The colors ive used on this one is

    Top colors:

brownish is Tamiya Tamiya XF-63 (rlm81) the green is vallejo Modelcolor gunship green (rlm 83), the grey is also Vallejo Modelcolor Basalt grey (rlm 75)

The underside is Vallejo Modelair Greyblue (rlm 76), the greenish is an Old Humbrol Duck Egg Green 23, 25yrs ols and still working (rlm 84, thats weird color, but late war they took whatwver they had :) ), and the bare metal i uswd Alclad polished alu or was it dural alu...

If i remember it right ;)

Maybe its not 100% right and can be discussed, but is important to remenber that in late war there were many variations on the waffe birds, also no one really know how exacly these birds were painted, ive used qualified guessing and artistic freedom on this one, but im shuren im quite close :D

The only ones who knew that is the pilots and maintance personal :)

  6. Thx Gary.

    Resulted in this......

    img7423e.jpg

Note, i used a scrap model i praticed on several times before i went doing it live..

Hope that wasnt to many pics :)

  7. Thx Thomas

Had to start all over, learning the new "colors" such Acrylic paints, types, how they behaving , learning weatherin by using washes (never donethat bedore), and many other things..

Im taking it step by step...not all at once, i like to have the control of what i am doing

Learning draw panellines, that requier some skill, scratchbuild some parts

I bought my First Aibrush 4 years ago, havent ever tried one bedore, but i didnt start then either, other things came in life :/.....

My models 20yers back i used only a brush.....and Humbrol enamel colors :)...Still have about 60 cans of them and they work great, i sealed them firmly :)...

Im very experimental in my aproach in building, find my way that fits me, im looking what other modelbuilders done and how they achieved their results wich are great and of cours their disasters as well, thats wery educating.

Off course im very critical of my own builds when they are finished, and using a forum to post my final results, share the feedback pro and cons, easer to see it in other perspectives then,

I some times fiddling with som painting/weathering detail and still not satisfied, and someone saying, DONT touch it, its perfect, i take a step back and reslize hell, ive missed the whole picture, it is perfect, happens now and then, so forum for menworks great to see things out of the box bybdoing eg building logs :)

  8. Thx all. :D im glad you all liked :)

    A few pics during build

  9. Hi.

Heres my No:7 finished build since my restart last year (havent build in 19years)

Its a Hasegawa second hand bought unbuilt kit, (most of my builds are second hand unbuilt kits), all the inignias, swastika, numbers are painted using airbrush and masking tape, used only few decals, varning markings and so on.

Tried new wethering ideas have a picture in my head how they looked like, snafu :D

No one really know how theese planes actually looked lik, so i used my artisthic mind and qualified guessing.

Enjoy the pics...These were photographed wit Iphone 4s, my No:8 and 6 where shot wid Canon Eos 60D with lens 50/1,4 (no macro)

The antenna wire is supposed to be slack, but prefer stretched, easier to handle the model and so on, so it isnt anything ive missed ;).....

  10. Thx John.

Those took a while to do. i started after model No:2 to paint all that i can paint after bad decals,

they were extremely fragile and so on, and after that i started to realize all the benegits of trying to master the skill of painting insignias, numbers etc...,

I can choose more invidual builds and dont have to be stuck on expensive aftermarket decals just for one plane,

Im a Oob builder exept seatbelts that i use to complete my cockpits

Off course the smalest numbers, varnings signs are decals ;).

Ill improving my english in writing also on this forum :D

ps edited my first post, read it once again, som minor error in writing.

"All insignias, red warning line on the wings, the yellow stripe on front of the wing, the red/yell/blue colored stripes on the wheel covers/hatch was painted using airbrush and masking tape, the only decals used was 210-105 and the japanese text "step here" on the wings"
