  2. Hubert, That would be great! Thanks for the effort! Al Keller aw-keller@earthlink.net
  3. Good evening! I'm searching for drawings of the X-4 for a scratch build project. So far, I've found a little bit of rather sketchy information but hoped that there might be better information available. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated!! Al Keller
  4. Would it be possible to convert Silver Wing's Stearman into the N3N-3? Are there any good drawings available? Thank you very much. Al Keller
  5. I found out that they will be re-issuing the Hansa Brandenberg W.29 as a Special with other markings and more etched metal parts later on. Good news!! Al Keller
  6. Thanks for the input everyone. That will save me a lot of heartache!! Eyes wide open...... Al Keller
  7. Hello! I've recently gotten interested in modeling 1/32nd scale WWI airplanes. Are there manufacturers I should avoid? I've found that Wing Nut kits are very good - kind of set the bar!! I'm interested in an accurate model of the original airplane and don't mind having to scratch build or modify the kit parts to build a really nice looking accurate model. I appreciate your thoughts. Al Keller
  8. Very interesting topic. I'm going to be trying the stencils vs. decals where possible. Is there a web site for Ad Astra - I tried searching without luck. Thanks, Al Keller
  9. Thanks for the input. Stranger things have been released..... We can hope. Al
  10. I'm wondering if any of the guys "in the know" are aware of any plans by any manufacturers to release these kits in the near future. Would it make sense for Hasegawa to "scale up" their 1/48th kits or for Tamiya to extend their F4U-1 family to include the later versions? Thank you, Al Keller
  11. Paul, Thank you for sharing. Very nice video!! Al Keller
  12. Hello everyone. This thread has re-kindled my interest in building the F4-B, the C/D and an E model Phantoms. I'm very interested in the interiors and the F4-B conversion. Keep up the great gentlemen! Al Keller
  13. 98Wrangler, I hadn't thought of that. I'll give it a try. Thank you VERY much! Al
  14. Thank you. That was the only picture I've been able to find so far. I appreciate the help. Al Keller
  15. Well, I found another reference that shows this was assigned to the 422nd NFS when still in the UK. A couple of the IPMS publications show that the nose art was on both side of the airplane and that the serial was, indeed, 42-5594. Does anyone know of photos of the plane? Thanks, Al Keller
  16. Hello again! I've only found 1 picture of this aircraft and am hoping that others exist. Was this with the 425th NFS? Was the serial no. 425594? ANY help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you, Al Keller
  17. Hello again! I've read that the 425th NFS moved their R/Os from the rear of the center section to the gunner's seat area since their P-61As didn't have the upper turret. Does anyone know what that installation looked like in real life? I've tried to find photos with no luck. Thank you! Al Keller
  18. Just received my Hobby Boss P-61 and I'm trying to pin down the color scheme for the model. I've always liked the OD and Grey scheme with invasion stripes. Would the 422nd and 425th NFSs have had full (upper and lower) invasion stripes on their planes for and shortly after D-Day. Most of the pictures I've seen show the stripes on the underside only. Are there any photos of the" Creep" other than that shown on pg 3 of Larry Davis' In Action Squadron book? Sorry, I can't figure out how to post the picture I scanned! Thank you for your help!! Al Keller
  19. No one mentioned: FJ-2 Fury FJ-3 Fury F84 F P-51H F-86H B-25C/D AU-1 Echo.... F4U-5 F4U-7 P-51B/C Keep your fingers crossed and keep those cards and letters coming!! Al Keller
  20. Hello! I checked HPH's website to see if there was an update on the Hornet and couldn't find anything at all. Is the kit still in the works or has it been shelved? Al Keller
  21. Nick, I don't understand why you've choosen to approach this subject with prejudice and near-hostility. Your attitudes are insulting to those who follow this forum and to the person who has invested/risked their money to bring this kit to many modelers who have been waiting anxiously. Life is too short and this is just a HOBBY. Al Keller
  22. Hello, The Hornet is one of my favorite aircraft! I've been gathering information and drawings to scratch build a 1/32nd model. I didn't realize that the Huntley drawings were wrong. Could one of the more knowledgable members help me understand where they are "off" or, better still, point me in the direction of a set of accurate drawings for my model? Thank you in advance! Al Keller aw-keller@earthlink.net
  23. Thank you everyone. I'll follow up on these leads to see if I can find anything. Al
