  1. The only thing I could find was this thread on another forum: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?p=257331&styleid=4 It says that there is a photo of 163 796 on page 969 of JG 1 and 11, Teil2 by Prien/Rodeike. Sadly I don't have that book, but maybe it helps you.
  2. I have never heard of that, the only way an AS engine would fit size wise would have been by exchangin the super charger for that of an earlier version. Do you know more about that?
  3. Hi back Darn, I need to stay away from these topics, they always give me ideas... now I want to convert a G6 to G2...
  4. But then you need completely new gun throughs, that might be a bit of a pain.
  5. Beautiful. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I think you installed the control column backwards
  6. Well, this is one of those builds that I wish I had discovered a year from now. It's like waiting for the next episode of your favourite TV show. Very inspiring, I can not wait to see more, thank you for sharing with us
  7. That is not quite what I meant. You are right of course, the open version should technically have the pinch at the top, but that's a rather small detail. It's like stevegallacci said, the flat part continues all the way through the transparency to the aft fairing of the canopy. In essence, the transition from flat to round takes place over the entire length of the canopy part.
  8. I just recieved my copy of the kit. All in all I think it's a very nice kit. Bit rough in places. The only real problems I found are with the canopy parts. The front section is very basic and looks very distorted. The real problem for me are the main canopy parts. all 4 pieces have a notch where the headarmor slots in. And around this notch there are some distortions that extend beyond the frame. The real problem for me is the shape though, the early versions are flattened on the top all the way back to where the transparent part meets the rear frame. So the cross-section at that point is flat at the top where it should be round. Strangely enough the late version is correct at that spot. But the bulging in that version is a bit off. While it has a nice shape from the side, the canopy does not bulge out at the top, so it looks a bit anemic. But that is not all that noticeable I think. An interesting observation on the side: As has been said, the kit comes with a version for each canopy to depict it open. The interesting thing is that the normal version has little protrusions at the bottom front. And since the canopy is rather thin, these protrusions will force the canopy in the correct shape when fixed in the open position. The kit will turn out nice with the canopy out of the box, but scratching a new one should be easy enough thanks to the simple shapes for those who want to take it a bit further. I like the kit, I'll get some more
  9. A very interesting subject. Looking at the various photographies of Erla G10s I found one thing sticking out. The lower cowl looks to be asymetrical aswell, wider on the port side. The revell kit portrays the lower triangular edge of the left upper cowl to bend inward to the width of the lower cowl. On photos however it looks as if there was a smooth transition between upper and lower cowl at the wing root meaning the lower cowl extends further out on the left than it does on the right. There are images that show the lower cowl opened. The right edge seems to be straight. That would make sense because of the hinge. The left side seems to have a curve though which would support my assumption. Can anyone confirm this? I am in the process of drawing up plans of an Erla G10 for a 3D project, so any insight on the lower cowl would be welcome
