  1. Somewhere I've got copies of drawings showing that arrangement - but don't think I've seen any photo's of a real one... Will try and dig out my refs at some point and have a look. As others have said - there ere the mountings above the cockpit on some later war a/c. Iain
  2. There was the Craftworks resin kit - not sure on current availability. Iain
  3. Weren't Special Hobby planning a Yak 3? La 5/7 would be ace - prefer the lines of the 9/11 though - although really post war... And bit OT - but a Pe 2 would be cracking! Iain
  4. I've got the Combat vac somewhere - actually quite nice! Iain
  5. Personally I'd stick with the kit undercarriage. As long as the anchor plates at the top of the main legs are solidly bonded to the front bulkhead it should be up to a fair amount of weight - mine seems plenty strong. That metal set looks like a copy of the kit items with no additional detail (but with more cleaning up and straightening needed) - plus white metal may be too soft for the rear radius arms. Just my preference - others' mileage will vary Iain
  6. Sounds like a great subject! Do I recall someone (not Fisher) at one point threatening to do a Stearman? Iain
  7. Thanks guys - much appreciated! Am adding a little more weathering I think - and replacing that aerial wire as I think it's a little on the thick side. Will post some daylight pix at the weekend - model will be featured in a forthcoming issue of Military in Scale magazine. Fun build! Iain
  8. Raiden GB you say? Well - I'll be starting this weekend - but can't post too much of the build as it's another magazine build. I will post salient points Iain
  9. Looks great with those Starliner wing planforms! Not using the tailplane mouldings? Iain
  10. Hi guys - suspect it'll be the Christmas break before I get any more done. Would look nice next to my He 111 - just need a larger cabinet! Iain
  11. If you want a far better start to a 1:32 model you want the ID Models vac - I think Tigger now has these available again to special order. Iain
  12. Need to get some daylight shots - and she's a real *bu**er* to photograph as she's so large... Anyhoo - please forgive the colour casts - will post better images when I have them. Iain
  13. Hi Keith - been working on corrections - still a work in progress - but progress is being made - see linky in my sig. Iain
  14. Cheers Nige! Will post some finished pix in daylight tomorrow. Next 'quickie' is a Hasegawa Raiden I've got to build for Military in Scale - but also some further work on Connie and my Lightning stuff... Iain
  15. Painting looks fine to me Nige - we're always our own worst critics! Detail really looking good - looks like an aircraft structure now rather than a piece of plastic! Iain
  16. Working on final weathering and 'twiddly' bits - should be finished by the am... Have re-done the brush painted fuselage 'sqiuggles' and happier with look now. Also 'blocked in' the aircraft letter 'E' with painted cross-hatching to match photo's. Tea - then final weathering, guns, bombs, aerials and doors: Iain
  17. Sorry - just spotted your post - thanks for kind words - appreciated Iain
  18. Good man! Bear in mind it's 28 years since I lived oop North - my passport is prolly way out of date! Iain
  19. Now this is a far better use for that phrase - MacDonalds can go do one - as we used to say when I lived up North Iain
  20. Looking great! I have a *thing* for this aeroplane - such a distinctive shape and very much of it's time - looking forward to seeing it done! Iain
  21. Commercial Break: For anyone interested in Constellations - or commercial flying of a bygone era I give you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6VfkKjlhXs&feature=player_embedded Long - but well worth a watch... Iain
  22. Hi Dave, Firstly - not hijacking thread at all - brilliant stuff - and having others having a go is great inspiration for me!! The Lockheed drawing - I have smaller versions of those (yours is ace ) and I've been using the dimensions from those in comparison with the Heller shapes blown up and the drawings that came with my ID kit to establish corrections - which is why I ended up extending the height of the tail fins and the span of the wings. Wing position - yes - appears it may be a little out but that can be easily fixed when I sort out the wing spars/lower fuselage area. Took Connie to Telford on the Sunday and the fuselage was to be seen on the stand for a few hours - I was nagged by a few people on the Saturday so brought it along the following day. Hi Rainer, Welcome aboard - and, yes, any help *gratefully* received. If you have a spare copy I'd love to see it. Will drop you a PM later. All - so a 1:32 Connie Group Build? Sounds like a plan! Iain
