  1. I'm not moving fast. I just don't spend a lot of time on inner painting like it should be done. It's all about the "overall look" in my builds.
  2. I only had to paint the front of the engine. So,this wasn't so much work. All the pannel went on without any problems.
  3. I like the P-40 too.Starting from the E-version. Concerning the 262. The weight in the nose isn't that hight.Just enough to tip the balance to the nose wheel. It doesn't carry that much weight.
  4. Strange that the kit has two drop tanks, but only one is shown in the instructions...
  5. My first wish is the B-P Defiant. Second is my Luftwaffe favourite...
  6. And don't incluide a stand for the in flight option. The kit has two type of drop tanks. But only one is shown in the instructions.
  7. Don't forget that Airfix only did one non-WW-2 kit. Why should they change ? Does WW- 2 sell better ?
  8. Progress so far. As I'm going with a closed build, all the detail inside the gun bay and wings don't have to be painted first. Only the wheel bays get painted. The flaps are dryfitted. Did all the cockpit parts that go in the same colour.
  9. A lot of detail inside the wing that can't be seen, unless I keep the pannels open.
  10. Can you compare this with the Hasegawa Hellcat ? Which is best ?
  11. Now that I've started the kit (WIP board) ,I must say that it's not at all so difficult to build. The instructions are very good. I decided to go for fully painted, standing with wings straight, flaps down .U.S. markings That's the easiest scheme for my brush painting.Overall blue.
  12. I plan to do the wings first. Then fuselage and engine last
  13. I started today by cleanig some of the parts and minor glueing...
  14. Hi all, I was going to keep this untill the next GB. But with a new COVID lock-down in Belgium,I might as well start now. Plenty of other kits to go into the GB's.
  15. Here's a nice review. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235056983-grumman-f6f-5-hellcat-a19004-124/
  16. I've had a good look at the instructions. As I see it,much of the inner detail can't be seen ones the fuselage, wings and cowling is closed. So,I shall try my best at painting it all. If it doesn't turn out decent,I can still close all the pannels. I had the same dilemma with the 1/24 Mosquito. In the end I closed it all.
  17. Hi all, Today I recieved the big Cat that I bought from Jack . When I opened the box and saw all those parts, cold sweat ran down my back. I'm not the world's best inner-detail painter. So,I fear that I will end up closing all the pannels and be left with loads of spare parts. But then I recalled my topic on "demo-models". This looks for me to be the best option to show all that detail. Build it unpainted. My big dilemma now is to build it with wings straight, folded wings or one folded and one straight. Any tips, broblem solving,etc... are welcome
