  1. I didn't even notice that.
  2. Hi all, Just wondering if this kit could be used for a Belgian . It doen't have to be 100 % correct. This site shows the pictures of the Belgian planes. https://www.belgian-wings.be/north-american-at-6-harvard-texan
  3. Revell satin nr 382 "naturel wood".
  4. Last reply is a month ago. Are there plans to make the 2025 GB calendar soon ?
  5. Joining the wing to the fuselage was a perfect fit. Very good for a 54 year old mold. The rear clear part is now part of the fuselage. I rather like the "Razorback" look. Much like the later P-47. Revell Nr 1 matt primer.
  6. The kit first came out in 1970. So there is not much cockpit detail to worry about. Just an IP-decal,seat and control stick. The wheel wells are also empty. Still a nice kit to build so far. The kit should have two types of clear parts. For the fighter and racer. Mine, only had the racer parts. I didn't like the fit of the rear part. So I merged it with the fuselage to build a "razorback".
  7. Based on the Williams Bros kit and using DACO decals.
  8. "what-if" . Anno September 1 st. 1939: War in Europe is just a matter of time after the invasion of Poland by Germany, Belgium is desperatly trying to upgrade it's airforce with more modern planes. Non of the European contries are willing to reduce and sell their planes. Hence the buying of 30 American P-35's. A few changes must be made to meet Belgium's demands: * 4 wing mounted .30 cal MG's instead of the fuselage mounted MG's . * lower windshield and canopy for better aerodynamics. Anno May 10 th 1940: Belgium has been invaded. Groundforces are overwelhmed during the Blitzkrieg. The airforce destroyed on the ground or in desperate counterattacks. But one P-35, number 25, managed to dodge the Me 109's and fly to England ! Flown by Kapt. Pierlot . He joined the RAF during the BoB still flying the P-35 in Belgian markings. Scoring three kills. Two Ju 87's and a Do 17. After the BoB he kept on flying various types of fighters with Belgian markings . Ending his career in 1947 as Lt. Col. The P-35 was stored in a hanger. In 1980 the P-35 was given to the Brussels National Museum .
  9. I have started a late entry. Beter late than never.
  10. The Lysander...
  11. It's the 1/24 th B-P Defiant !!! Airfix is expanding their BoB-subjects(Ju 87 , Spitfire ,Hurricane ,Me 109) Or the re-release of the old P-51 ? https://uk.airfix.com/products/north-american-p-51d-mustang-a14001v I just don't understand why they redo the P-51 plus recently the Ju-87 and not do the Typhoon,Mosquito and Hellcat anymore !!
  12. I just realized that I still haven't build anything is this 1 year running GB ! I've been postponing a build .Getting buzy with other builds. I did start a topic with two P-51 D's.But those ended up as toys for my grandson. Lucky for me there is a convention soon in Belgium. Let's find an easy kit to finish in two months.
  13. Me 109 E in "museum" finish.
  14. Early style camouflage with high blue sides. Maybe not correct. But this will be a "museum" presentation.
  15. I saw the kit at IPMS-Belgium today. Not my field of interest. But it looked great !
  16. In that case I feel it should start on March 5 th.
  17. That has just ended... https://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?/forum/127-imagination-land/
  18. Made the fuselage. The cockpit is poor in detail. Joining the wing only took 5 min. It's a perfect fit.
  19. I have another proposal. "On a stand." Any type as seen outside many museums or airforce bases. It doesn't have to be a copy from an actual display Use whatever kit and display it how you like. I would use an old, cheap Revell or Hasegawa kit. Put it on a grass field base. BTW...the 1/24 th Airfix stands are perfect for this. The possibilities are endless. Like these...
  20. I just go with the flow and see wich kit I can build in any GB.
  21. In anticipation of a possible theme. I shall try to find a cheap kit at the IPMS convention later this month. Just in case.
  22. I've had a look at all the GB's that have been done. Going back 20 years and more. I noticed that there has only been one GB depicting a certain plane. The " Mustang Madness" GB in 2012. So why not pick one again ? Taking into acount the number of kits available. From simple old Matchbox,Hasegawa,Revell to full detailed kits from today. Also for everyone's budget. I can find an old release for only 10 Euro's at conventions. Or I could spend more on modern kits. Plenty Spitfire, Me 109,P-47 etc...kits. No point in going for ,as example, the Lysander as there is only one kit. Wich one to pick ? Why was it the Mustang in 2012 ? My choice is the Spitfire. Most iconic plane
