Derek B Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) I have always liked this B-17 variant and wouldn't mind making it - What do you think? Derek Edited November 15, 2013 by Derek B KOTR 1
Showtime 100 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Anything B-17 is a winner ! I'd love to do a post-war B-17 with a V-1 rocket mounted under each wing .
ColinR Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 OOOh shades of the closing sequence of "Thunderball" , add in Fulton recovery nose struts ... hmm , I might be able to get than one past the wife...? Derek B 1

Iain Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Nice idea (I've been meandering around similar thoughts (of many subjects)) and have gone back to 8th Air Force bombers... Modellers are always looking for something different - and that fits the bill nicely - that boat would be a big chunk of resin though? Iain

Iain Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 RAF Mk IIIs would be a lot quicker to master Derek - gotta be a few takers for that I'd have thought? Anyone know how many HK Models 17Gs have been made/likely sales? Iain

Hannants alone have sold over 200, and that's just the UK!!! Derek B 1
Iain Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Crikey!!!!!! I wouldn't have guessed anything like that - wow! That's a lot of BiG 17's - wonder how many of those will get built? Iain

It's 27ft long (about 8m), which is 257mm length in 1/32 scale! Derek Edited November 15, 2013 by Derek B

Iain Well Iain, when there are enough 1/32 British aircraft produced in 1/32 that were man enough to handle the Mk.I airborne liferaft, then I will look at that as well (Did RAF B-17's ever use the Mk.III liferaft?). Interestingly, I just mispelt liferaft as luftraft and found that it still works! Derek Edited November 15, 2013 by Derek B
Derek B Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) Hmmm...PB-1W...Interesting... Need some H2S data methinks... Derek Edited November 15, 2013 by Derek B

Well Michael, as a sucker for all things Swedish, I had considered their civil conversion of an intered aircraft (I think that the nose section still exists somewhere?). I like the 'Bjorn store' very much! Cheers Derek Edited November 15, 2013 by Derek B
