AdamR
What's a good technique for doing it? I'm building the P-51D "Frenesi" http://www.mustang.gaetanmarie.com/profiles/frenesi/frenesi.htm and I don't want to use the decals I have. Frankly, I don't trust my ability to match the decals' colors when I paint the spinner. Plus, painted checkerboard would just look better. Anybody got neat way to do it? AdamR
Mask, mask and more mask. Heh. So you're saying it's going to be a b____ no matter what? I'm afraid that is true. The tricky bit is around that chin intake.
Gerhard
If it were me, I would lay the base of yellow first, then mask for the Red, but yeah, the chin intake will have to be tapered sort of, and not just a square. Is there no AM mask set for it? AdamR
dodgem37
'Mask, mask and more mask.' Measure! then mask. What needs to be done is to go from a smaller diameter to a larger diameter. So, the further from the nose you get the larger the square. It's not much, but it's there. It can be done. AdamR
Is there no AM mask set for it? Why didn't I think of that? Don't answer that! Yes! Ordered a set of Montex's masks from Hannants.
