I'm building the P-51D "Frenesi" http://www.mustang.gaetanmarie.com/profiles/frenesi/frenesi.htm and I don't want to use the decals I have. Frankly, I don't trust my ability to match the decals' colors when I paint the spinner. Plus, painted checkerboard would just look better. Anybody got neat way to do it? Gerhard Posted December 21, 2017 Share Posted December 21, 2017 If it were me, I would lay the base of yellow first, then mask for the Red, but yeah, the chin intake will have to be tapered sort of, and not just a square. So, the further from the nose you get the larger the square. It's not much, but it's there. It can be done.
