Reuben L. Hernandez
Currently reading the book A Higher Call and I was wondering if anybody makes a decal set for Franz Stigler's yellow 2 Bf.109G-6 in 32nd scale of course. Thanks for the help Reuben
Guest Clunkmeister
I looked too. You can get Ye Olde Pub for the B-17, but I've only seen 48 scale 109 decals so far. And the book was awesome. A truly amazing story, that. Edited April 22, 2017 by Clunkmeister
Reuben L. Hernandez
Thanks thats what I'm finding out, no joy but I guess I can piece meal them together or have a custom set of mask made. I'm about half way through the book and it is a very good read to be certain. Very interesting to read about the other side trials and tribulations. We were enemies at one time but they bleed, lost loved ones and died just like our fathers, brothers, uncles during these horrible times.
Martinnfb
Wolf had a chance to meet and talk to Franz while he was living in BC, apparently a very decent human.

Darren Howie
If you check out Kits Worlds 48th Ye Old Pub it gives you Stiglers markings...most look pretty generic other than the kill markings...you might be able to piece them together... John Shaws painting truly is a great tribute to this moment. Have it hanging over our bar...always a talking point. Guest Clunkmeister
I've always wanted to find a quality print for framing, but I've had no luck so far. The most amazing part of the story is the postwar part. How they met, became best friends, families intermingling and all, and passing away within a few months of each other. A story that needs to be made into a movie, without any of the added Hollywood drama and romance BS. The story itself stands on it's own merit as almost unbelievable. Because of Stigler, 8 men lived to have families and grow old. Edited April 23, 2017 by Clunkmeister
Reuben L. Hernandez
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I read someplace where this story is being made into a movie or at least someone brought the movie rights. Please Hollywood don't screw this up 😔

Nick Trudgian has done two prints and thecmost well known print by John Shaw which is on the cover of the book virtually impossible to find. He did do a second print as well. Took me 5 years to get a copy of Shaws Higher Call print and even then i was lucky. Good luck!
LSP_Mike
Sliding off just a bit... John Shaw also did a series of 4 as tribute to the original A.V.G. The one I have has 4 P-40(Bs and Es) flying low through the Li river gorge, and is signed by 16 of the original 318 members. The print above would be nice to have as well.
