mywifehatesmodels
Since I started using MRP paint, I've mainly been shooting it over their own Black Fine Primer, or Mr. Surfacer 1000. I've found that their paint doesn't do well over bare plastic and could be better over the Mr. Surfacer, but is practically bullet proof when using it in conjunction with their own primer. However, I just went to order some more from Sprue Bros. and they were out of stock on the black. They did have the Olive Green, so I ordered that, instead. I'm just curious if anyone here has used this before and if there's anything I need to watch out for. I'm actually hoping it is a little easier to cover, since the black can really be hard to cover with some colors. TIA, John
denders
I've used their gray, black, and white primer. It depends upon what color you're putting on top of the primer. I thought I had some of the green too, but it's not in the paint rack, so...... mywifehatesmodels
mywifehatesmodels
Thanks, Dave. I don't plan on using this as a base for any NMF. It will likely be for more general stuff, at this point. I guess I'll find out once I get a chance to play with it. John Out2gtcha
tucohoward
Hi, John I have a bottle of it but haven't tried it yet. I generally use Mr. Surfacer but I need to try the MRP. Thanks for the reminder. Jay mywifehatesmodels
mywifehatesmodels
Just an update to this thread. I did test this on the Aires resin cockpit set for my P-47 when I got it. It seems to work well. However, I don't think it sprays quite as smooth as the black primer. Not bad, but just not quite as good. John
