alaninaustria
Hello all, just wanted to ask if anybody can clarify for me the position of the drop tank location on the 6-3 MkV hard-wing? I understand that it was different than the US manufactured aircrafts. thanks. Cheers Alan
alaninaustria
The more I read online and study the period RCAF photos, it looks to me that Canadair Mk V and VI Sabres had the hard points for the drop tanks set more inwards towards the fuselage than the US North American manufactured versions. Can anybody confirm? Thank you Cheers Alan
Snowbird3a
a Canadair hard point position was on Sta 99.5, same position as the North American wing. The positions were moved outboard after F-86F 51-13170, the placement all the kit makers have decided to depict. Snowbird3a
The flying 'Hawk One' Sabre 23314, had the tanks on the inboard of the two later positions, as their was problems with the plumbing of the outer hard points. Hawk One's tanks were on Sta 72.25 of a Mitsubishi F-86F-40 wing. Tony Edited December 9, 2020 by Snowbird3a Rockie Yarwood
