jd-ny
Hi everyone, Has any company ever made main gear for the F-18 that will "straighten" like the real deal when you pick the model up? I haven't seen them but I'd love to build any F-18 with them. Edited November 3, 2016 by jd-ny
Jack
I don't think so, since all "viable" AM companies concentrated on the "SITTING-DOWN" itself, and consequently went their way, no one ever thought of AM'ing them how the gear "dangled" just before impact. On the other hand, word went that the posture of the old revell F18 1/32 gear, "sitting down" stand was even better than the hasegawa one........(hmm, thinking about that i should compare these btw) Anyhow, i think you'd be compelled to some "serious" scratchbuilding/adjusting having it the way you want it to...... jd-ny
Thank you for that link. I'd like to try that. But I was thinking of gear that would actually articulate and move from dangled to sitting position when you picked the model up. Anything like that out there? F`s are my favs
If I build the Hornet one day, I'll definitely try to make it movable. It's possible and will look very intriguing.
Lee White
If you have a mill, and a lathe, and some machinist skills, it should be easy. Barring that, mebbe not so much.
